iSync is tied to .Mac, in that it requires you to sync one computer to .Mac before you can sync another Mac to it. Of course, you have to be online to use that part of iSync. So, iSync lets you synchronize when you’re traveling, but even more tellingly, it ignores Apple’s own Rendezvous technology which could be utilized for direct syncing of Macs. You know, working like iChat does – automatically. Maybe we’ll see a future version (or finished version) of iSync that’ll support Rendezvous, but for now, this is just another reason for Apple to use to sell .Mac subs. More about iSync here.
