  1. “Real or not – his perceived humbleness (not sure if that’s actually a proper word!) is very refreshing and to his credit.”

I think humility is the word you are going for. FWIW I don’t think Steve is an egomaniac, I just think he has a true passion for great stuff, and he expects people to follow his vision. I think the ones who don’t are the ones who claim he is an egomaniac.

  2. Oh, my gawd! Right from the horse’s mouth! Something “next” is going to happen! I can’t wait for the prophets and pundits to tantalize and titillate us all with their exotic predictions of “what’s next”. Strap yourselves in, folks, the digital tsunami of a gazillion guesses and salacious speculations is roaring to a hub near you.

  3. Symbolism:

Absolutely, the juxtaposition of the transparency of Microsoft’s futile attempt to emulate the heart of Apple’s genius with the commanding view of the bold brilliance of Apple’s rising innovation escaping the confines of earth bound creatures is a dramatic display of post modern art with conceptual elegance or something like that.

  4. Kitty-true about Woz, and I have great respect for the man, but if you read your Apple history, it took both of them to give birth to Apple Computer. At that time in history the sum was greater than the parts. (Kind of like the Beatles). But–who has kept the torch burning all these years with continued innovation long after the initial fire? That answer is Steve, not Woz.

  5. At midnight tonight the glass cube will ignite and in glorious RDF fashion it will carry the faithful to the distant star formation known as Omega SPJ. You will receive your instructions for the final time-space shift. We apologize in advance for the poly-cotton blend spacesuits. The freeze dried applesauce is excellent however. Please don’t tease the Shuffle Servants. They are easily annoyed. Remember to inflate your shoes before disembarking. Once in your proper queue, please board the NewBus without making scuzzy remarks. Everything will be Clarufied upon arrival. Your ADB, Automatic Determination Benefits, will be assigned when you arrive. Individual PERFORMAnce will be judged on the high orders CENTRISt bias. It woz different in previous times. Ive got admit that. Good luck.

  6. He doesn’t look bad to me, just his usual self. I’m sure he’s careful about his diet and health. He’s always been slim, and it’s well known that the camera makes one look thinner in many cases, and he was seated. He IS losing his hair! I think that’s what is causing your impression.

His natural enthusiasm just flows through, it’s great. He should have said, “throw out your Dell, baby. And yes, corporate America here we come!” Plus he could have mentioned boot camp. He seems to be targeting consumer computers at the moment, and he used the word “consumer” a lot. That’s a word I never liked.

When are we going to see Apple gain share in corporations? That’s the last, and greatest frontier. Consumer buying will follow.

  7. In watching the CNBC video a certain worry was allayed: upon seeing the cube I wondered how wheelchair-bound and/or reduced mobility customers could enter the store from the plaza. Well, if you watch behind Jobs to the right you’ll see a platform go up. I’m hoping this is an elevator for the afore-mentionned ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  8. Am I wrong in reading too much into Steve’s use of the words “unannounced products” in reference to the iphone (i.e. it’s on the way, but he can’t talk about it because it’s not official yet)?!! Probably, but please let this be one rumour that comes true…

  9. Jobs looks the picture of health. I don’t know who you people are that are trying to monger health rumors about Jobs, but I think it is dispicable. Go find a hole to crawl into. I’ve seen your posts throughout these stories featuring Jobs today and what you are doing is pure crap.

  10. steve jobs a strict vegetarian. Plus he watches his diet more so than he did many years ago. after the cancer scare he’s more aware of what he eats.

he will be with us for years to come. this guy is a total genius. others woiuld of shove there success down your throats.

    go steve. we love ya!

The Steve is not about to show his hand to Mickey Hell, Monkey Boy, et al.

    Rock on Steve!
