RUMOR: Apple’s video iPod or tablet Mac spotted?

“This image was just sent to us. It follows the description provided by several rumor sites and also appears to be from the same factory where the iPod pictures last November were taken,” MacShrine reports. “Come on 28th!”

For what it’s worth, Engadget has picked up the story and they did get the iPod 5G right before it was officially announced.

As for the unit shown in the bottom image, details from 163.com are somewhat scant and much is lost in translation. This much we could decipher: 260GB hard drive, 128MB Flash, 500MHz processor running “Mac OS X for Handhelds 7.1,” with included software: Safari 1.1, Quicktime Player Handheld Editon 7.1, iTunes, Address Book, iPhoto for Handheld Edition, Salling Clicker, Apple Media Manager 2.1.

MacDailyNews Take: Images and rumored products are flying around faster than chairs in Ballmer’s office lately. “The mill” seems intent on using Apple’s Tuesday, February 28th event to make up for the lack of “leaked” images for Macworld Expo 2006.

  1. Please let this be true! My 3G iPod was stolen a month ago along with my car. Got the car back two days later but the iPod is gone forever (despite being engraved with my name & website). I’ve been waiting to replace the iPod to see what the next great thing will be.

  2. What quicktime logo? Do you people even take a second to examine anything before you post? The QT logo in the image below the photo is for a reference to an earlier rumor.

You guys are so eager for someone to listen to your meaningless opinion…

  3. GAWD some of you are irritating, will you follow the links to the original article instead of posting opinions based only on the MDN page!

The image below the actual picture is an artist’s rendering of an earlier rumor.

  4. “The next ipod will be BIG, an 8 pounder with a 10″ screen”.

    – Steve Jobs, as himself, in the Podcast “Super Secret Apple Rumours”, recorded live at Macworld 2006.

8 pounds = 8lbs! That sounds a bit heavy. 10″ looks right if it is true…

  5. My Chinese is not very good, but better than Googles. I am not quite shure the site is even claiming this is a “real” ipod. I beleive it is saying more along the line of this is what a lifestyle ipod could be. But again, my chinese is not very good.
