“RealNetworks issued a critical patch Thursday to address three flaws that affect a wide range of its applications and could allow a hacker to launch a remote attack to run malicious code on a user’s computer,” Dawn Kawamoto reports for CNET News.
“The company issued an update to address flaws in Windows versions of RealPlayer 10.5 (6.0.12.1040-1235) and RealPlayer 10, RealOne Player v2 and v1, RealPlayer 8 and RealPlayer Enterprise,” Kawamoto reports. “Also affected are Apple’s Mac version of RealPlayer 10 as well as Linux versions of RealPlayer 10 and Helix Player, both of which include (10.0.0-5).”

There’s a few that neatly wrap in 3 or more types of players in them.
Strange. I did the update for Nov. but the version in the Get Info on it never changed. I did all 3 updates, triple checking confirms I am as updated as I can get, but the version still says 10.0.0
Would be nice to see the version change to reflect the update.
I treat sites that stream in Real format like poison. Really irrelevant, Real is.
Say what you will about their player, the Real Browser is one of the best browser, even with Camino and Safari. Passed the Acid2 test as well.
the real browser uses Apple’s WebKit…Safari’s engine.
