Adobe’s Lightroom for iOS gains direct RAW imports

“iPhone photography fans who use Adobe’s Lightroom application to manage and synchronize their photos across the iPhone, iPad, Mac and other devices will be delighted to learn that the latest updates to Lightroom for iPhone and Lightroom for iPad have enabled the ability to import images in the RAW file format,” Christian Zibreg reports for iDownloadBlog.

“iOS 9 currently lacks RAW support,” Zibreg reports, “but iOS 10’s been confirmed to bring RAW photo editing to latest iPhones and iPads when it hits this fall.”

Zibreg reports, “RAW support in Lightroom for iOS, currently available as Technology Preview, lets you import and edit the photos taken with a DSLR camera in the RAW format.”

    1. Creative Cloud exists because Apple screwed professional creatives twice: Once with the appalling Final Cut X debacle and again when they decided to just let Aperture waste away.
      Every pro I know shrugged and moved on. This gave Adobe license to create the biggest money grab in software history: CC. Customers get locked in and competitors get shut out.

    1. iCloud is slow and unreliable and insecure even for relatively small files.

      Why would you want to pay more to attempt to manage large files on Apple’s/Google’s/Amazon’s servers?
