Lunch with Tim Cook auction raises $515,000 for Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights

“It’s time to dine with Tim Cook at Apple’s HQ in Cupertino,” Zac Hall reports for 9to5Mac. ”

One lucky (and generous) bidder has won Charitybuzz’s fundraiser campaign to have lunch with the Apple CEO at 1 Infinite Loop, plus attend a future Apple event during the next 12 months.”

“The $515,000 raised from the winning bid at the end of the auction will support the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights group, where Cook recently joined the board,” Hall reports. “Cook’s Charitybuzz campaign raising $515,000 compares to previous efforts in past years including $200,000 in 2015, $330,001 in 2014, and $610,000 in 2013.”

  1. And the money goes to support a great cause, a cause that is liberal and progressive. Liberalism makes the world a better place, always has, always will.

Let’s not forget that Tim Cook was heavily influenced by great liberal leaders like Martin Luther King and Robert F Kennedy. That’s one reason he is a great leader himself.

    1. Tell the Great Society baby mommas, and their welfare dependent kids about great liberal initiatives. Welcome to the south side of Chicago, and the Robert Taylor (grandfather of Valerie Jarret) homes, center for drugs, prostitution and assorted gang activities. Then lets’ move on the the great society II – aka sub prime home via Maxine Water, Barney Frank and the rest, which profited Ginny and Fanny execs, Wall Streets, caused the 2008 meltdown and resulted in LOWEST HOME OWNERSHIP IN THE LAST 50 YEARS AND COUNTING. Then we have the liberal turmoil in the middle East, supporting oppressive regimes, emailgate, and so on. Get a clue, your liberals other than Social Security (the worst investment I ever made) and Medicare (soon to bust the federal budget) are mostly failures. Government cheese by any other name is Liberalism.

  2. That money will be used to cater the next dinner where self-serving elitists liberals can quaff their champagne and munch their gourmet meals and extol the virtues of their saving the world or the whales or something or other.

    1. How is that any different than the dinner with the self-serving elitist conservatives who quaff their champagne and munch their gourmet meals and plot a way to shutter another factory in the USA in order to set up one in a communist nation where they can pay near-slave wages, pollute, and discriminate, all to save fractions of a penny off product costs — most of which is funneled to the executive cronies through a series of shell companies and offshore tax havens?

Oh, that’s right. The difference is that most liberals attempt to leave the world better off, even if that means raising money the old fashioned way. The greedy conservatives want to take whatever they can now and screw everyone around them, especially future generations who have no voice today.

By the way, neither corrupt political party is anything but conservative when it comes to fundraising and election process. The only two presidential candidates who offer a different vision are Sanders & Trump. Neither are electable, but that doesn’t matter either because the do-nothing congress is stuffed with partisan hacks who spend more time on their re-elections than they do legislating.

      1. The difference is that conservative values help people out of government reliance, whereas liberal values slam people into the false hope that government cheese is better than earning your own money and becoming self reliant and proud of yourself.

        1. In other words, the important function of government is to improve people’s self-esteem by denying them help of any form?

Man, that’s some tough love :/

        2. Increased taxation, fees, and tariffs deny people the wealth they have earned. Giving citizens the freedom to spend their money as they please is kinder than “free” government cheese. Neither do I support crony capitalism that rewards the lazy and the corrupt over honest and hard working citizens.
