Unboxing and review of iPhone 6/6s Smart Battery Case

YouTuber DetroitBORG has unboxed and reviewed Apple’s new Smart Battery Case for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.

Apple’s official Smart Battery Case is engineered specifically for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 to give users iPhone 6/s Plus-like battery life along with extra protection.

It features soft microfiber lining on the inside which helps protect the iPhone inside, while the soft elastomer hinge design makes it easy to put the case on and take it off again. On the outside, the silky, soft-touch finish of the silicone exterior feels great in the hand.

When you hold an iPhone encased in a Mophie or similar battery case in your hand, meaning most often with your fingers on the edges of the iPhone, the iPhone feels like an inelegantly thick slab. But, when you hold an iPhone in Apple’s Smart Battery Case, the iPhone feels elegantly thin in both landscape and portrait use. Try it and you’ll see.

Apple’s official Smart Battery Case also doesn’t interfere with the camera or the flash, fits in most docks and speakers, and you can hook your pinky finger along the bottom of the “battery bulge” when actually using the thing as a phone (which, admittedly, we hardly ever do, but for people who still talk on the phone, it feels very natural).

    1. As I posted when first announced, I think the design is fine. It is practical for many of the same reasons that MDN listed. It preserves the thin edges that keep it easy to slide into pockets, and the bulge offers additional grip. It’s unique looking but its form follows function, which is always a good starting point. Price is an issue, but I’ve not compared it to others with the same capacity and functionality, so it may or may not be a good value.

    1. I used to make fun of Microsoft for making products that looked like this.

As I posted on the other article, Apple’s original iPhone is the best design yet for ergo and for battery space. So instead of going with a classic Apple design that everyone liked, Ive shat out this brick.

      Something stinks in Cupertino.
