Macworld reviews 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro: ‘The force is with Apple’s workhorse laptop’

“rom the outside, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display looks like the MacBook Pro we’ve come to know from the recent past,” Roman Loyola writes for Macworld. “The major changes to the laptop are only apparent once you start using the machine: increased speed, and a new Force Trackpad that provides new input functionality.”

“The changes are most certainly welcomed, but overall, they may not be enough for anyone who bought a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro within the past three years to upgrade,” Loyola writes. “But if you’re laptop is older, or you’re thinking about upgrading from a MacBook Air, you’ll see great benefits.”

  1. If you want a faster and perhaps larger storage SSD, just buy one and open up your three year old Mac. And for higher resolution, just project your laptop image to a 4k tv set.

  2. The new trackpad pushed me over the hump to get this laptop after not having one since 2006. The accuracy and ease of clicking anywhere instead of moving your finger toward the bottom is a fundamental change in experience and usability.
