Apple has just released iOS 8.0.2 (Build 12A405) which includes the following fixes:
• Addresses bugs with call forwarding and freezing when accessing visual voicemail
• Fixes an issue with keypad not appearing to enter iCloud Keychain verification codes
• Fixes a problem with videos occasionally not playing in Safari
• Fixes AirDrop support for Passbook passes
• Addresses an issue with installing VPN profiles
• Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store
• Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode
• Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library
• Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages
• Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases
• Fixes an issue where ringtones were sometimes not restored from iCloud backups
• Fixes a bug that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari
• Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store
• Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
iOS 8.0.2 is available OTA and via iTunes.

The MDN app won’t work till MDN fixes their app.
They are also taking the opportunity to make some changes. Since you can still get MDN via Safari and I’m assuming the app budget isn’t that big, (it’s a free app and I doubt they have programers on staff) that sounds like a good decision to me.
I gave up on the MDN app years ago. (Fool me once, fool me twice.) Why bother since the web site accessed directly is fine. All I need is an Ad-Blok extension on iOS and I’ll be good.
Lets we forget: the reason for all this was iOS 8 bugs…

Just updated AT&T iPhone 6 64 GB unit to 8.0.2. None of the misery of 8.0.1. So far, everything works as expected.

Alright, ladies and gentleman. iPhone 6 on Verizon and I’ve successfully downloaded and applied the update. Connectivity is fine, Touch ID works fine and everything is snappy. As far as I know, you’re cleared for takeoff.

8.0.2 worked like a charm for me. I got bit by the 8.0.1 bug but I got it working.
A 24 hour patch fix is actually impressive.

It’s all been news for Apple and if (not a big if) the majority of the millions of people are happy then Apple lives up to delivering fantastic products and Tim’s leadership is pretty darn good.

Just installed on my 4s. MDN App now just crashes. Some games still won’t load, like, Bejeweled. I guess those will be updated in time. Everything else seems to be working fine.
MDN App has been crashing since 8.0. An update for the app should be in the works, according to a recent MDN post about it.
Yes, but when your job is to criticize others, you should have your own house in order… I love MDN & have reading & posting for YEARS! But this is ridiculous!
Also, why do I get a warming message in my Safari browser on my Macbook Air that it can’t authenticate the site? Really embarrassing!
This is nothing for MDN.. remember they abandoned the app for a very long time.

A friend and I are experiencing a bug that when we answer a call on the headset, the sound goes through the iPhone instead of the headset. This is not expected behavior and did not happen in previous versions of iOS.
Has this bug been fixed?

8.0.2 seems to work ok this far. Now if MDN would fix its app. It continues to crash.
Running 8.0.2 update on ATT iPhone 5 for roughly 3 hours with no issues so far…other than MND app crashing when I attempt to read an article.

I did not have a problem with 8.0.1 as I had 4S & Ipad2, Do I still have to update it 8.0.2.. I dont think any of the issues faced in iphone 6 really affected the older handsets and Ipads.
Apple launches their products apporximately a month after the US launch in India. So the delay really works out in favour of people here as the initial hiccups are usually sorted out, other wise it would be a nightmare as the apple support is next to non existent with only vague answers from them or they arrange a call back from their Singapore office.
Yes you need to update to 8.0.2 on all iOS 8.0 installed devices because it’s full of bug fixes for all devices not just the new iPhones. I’m only running iOS 8.0.2 on my iPad mini Retina because my Air and 5S are both too full and I’m chicken to run it on my older devices for fear of slowing them down. Unlocked iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Space Grey ordered Sept 12 from Oct 13-20 delivery. So no need for 8 on my iPhone on which I can still enjoy a working MDN app. 😜

What about Bluetooth connectivity issues with cars? Fixed in 8.0.2? Forums are full of people having issues with iOS8 and car bluetooth connectivity.

I never updated after 8.0 and went straight to 8.0.2 early this morning on my iphone 6. No issues and running great on AT&T. I have left 7.1 on my mini and other iPads because I love MDN’s app so much and will wait til they update before I update these devices.
Now we know what leads to fragmentation.

Im tempted as my phone is like windows xp at the moment BUT can anyone tell me:
On iPhone 5 is the cellular coverage as good as ios7? Updating to 8 lost me a full bar of reception, meaning no internet coverage in my regular places AND even worse battery life…
Of course all the other bugs that haven’t been acknowledged or (it seems) addressed are annoying – but the coverage is vital and I can’t afford it to get worse.
Not sure what happened, but all my icons for web bookmarks have disappeared, replaced by a generic symbol. AARGH!!

Ok… so I updated my iPhone 6 with 8.0.1 yesterday, just as apple was pulling the update… The phone froze as I was loading it… I was not happy. So I then disconnected the phone from my computer, pushed and held the home and lock button simultaneously, and forced a hard restart… It restarted, but remained frozen… I then hooked the phone back up to my computer, and iTunes started to download the firmware update… but I got a weird message informing me that the phone needed to be reset prior to loading the software. I could not reset the phone… it was frozen and inaccessible. I was not happy. Then a miracle happened. The phone restarted, the software started to download, and the phone rebooted in 8.0.
I then restored the phone using a previous backup. IT WORKED. The apps would not load… so I disconnected the phone… and downloaded the apps directly through the app store on the phone. IT WORKED. Today I updated both my iPad air (landscape orientation froze in 8.0) and iPhone 6 with 8.0.2… All operations are NOW SMOOTH.
Apple screwed up… but redeemed themselves. Thank you for handling this so quickly, Apple.

I updated two iPhone 5S’s to iOS 8.02 (Never installed 8.01.). Now I can’t send any SMS messages to non-iOS devices or google voice. iMessage works fine but not SMS. Frustrated.
Turns out it was the carrier’s fault; Verizon.
I updated IPAD 2 Model, MC763LL/A to 8.0.2 and among various app crashes or failures to run apps, I can no longer update or purchase apps. It just sits there. Anyone else experiencing this?
