Foxconn Brazil expansion: Hon Hai buys 350 more acres in Brazil

“Taiwanese technology giant Hon Hai on Friday said it has acquired a piece of land in Brazil for $12.6 million as part of its plans to expand its operation in the South American country,” AFP reports.

“Hon Hai’s subsidiary Foxconn CMMSG Industria de Electronicos Ltda bought the 1.42 million-square-meter (350-acre) site from Toulouse Incorporacao SPE LTDA, it said in a statement without elaborating,” AFP reports.

    1. I am not sure they have ruled out Canada or Mexico yet!

      I am sure that assembly plants will be put up where ever import tariffs call for them. However, I believe that the ARM chip is made in Texas. The real money is made after the assembly of Apple’s products and devices. Also in the applications. I am not that concerned about what is most likely less than $10 of the finished item’s cost.
