“Case-Mate has published a page on its website with six different case designs for the new iPhone 5, and we’re loving the radical new body shown in the images,” Todd Haselton reports for BGR.
“We’ve heard tons of speculation that the iPhone 5 will be thinner and lighter than the current model,” Haselton reports. “These cases suggest it will have tapered edges and a slim profile as well.”
Haselton reports, “Finally, the images appear to an aluminum back on the fifth-generation iPhone, which also jibes with earlier reports… UPDATE: Case-Mate has pulled the iPhone 5 cases from its website.”

Tapered design = thumbs down
There’s “tapered edges” (like iPad 2) and tapered design (from top to bottom).
Tapered edges = good
Tapered design = bad (un-iPhone like)

What is all this garbage about aluminium back that keeps coming up? It didn’t work on the v1.0 iPhone, because it blocks the signal, so why the fuck would Apple revert to a design that’s proven to fail? Unless they’re using Liquid Metal, which is a crystal structure, and has radio-friendly properties we don’t know about. Guess that’s possible, and that’s why Apple bought the compant.
Casemate makes the worst quality/design in cases that come from a U.S. company, just look at those renders, hideous!
I would never use their product even if you give it to me for free, with a stupid name like Casemate, I’d ashamed to have it on my beautiful iPhone5
