Apple Store currently offline (UPDATE: 4:45pm EDT: Store back online)

Apple’s online store is currently offline, displaying the familiar message that often, but not always, precedes new product additions:

We’ll be back soon. We are busy updating the store for you and will be back shortly.

Update: 4:45pm EDT: The Apple Store is now back online with nothing new readily apparent at first glance. Very funny, Steve.

  1. I love how Apple is apparently run entirely by one person, Steve Jobs.

You know, he’s a very important guy, but I really don’t think he actually designs the web pages or sets the prices or flips the switch on whether the store is up or down. I seriously believe he’s got a couple of interns helping him with stuff like that.

  2. Hmmmmm,
I know I’m as bad as the rest of you, . . . but it’s beginning to look like we all need to get a life. In spite of that, I’d be interested a cheaper mini with eight gigs of RAM.
Has anyone noticed it’s cheaper to purchase an eight-core Mac Pro with 16 gigs of RAM than a four-core Mac Pro with 16 gigs of RAM?

    Just sayin’.

  3. probably pre-loading for a monday launch to coincide with the quarterly meeting on Monday… gonna flip the switch Monday morning, I’ll bet. Any Takers?

mdn word… inside, as in, “it’s all loaded inside the stores ready for monday am”.

    i sooo love to guess!

  4. I think Apple will wait until after the new windows release to release new iMacs etc.

They will let Microsoft fire their guns and then Apple will answer with new computers and a new add campaign.

(Apple’s inherent message to Microsoft will be Is that all you’ve got?).(Apple’s message to consumers will be, as long as you are upgrading come and check out a Mac- here’s why…….)
