“SG Cowen reiterated a positive investment opinion on Microsoft, citing increased confidence in the company’s revenue acceleration in fiscal 2006 and 2007. ‘We see upside relative to the market of 15% or more over the next six to 12 months,’ SG Cowen analyst Drew Brosseau wrote in a note to investors,” David Ng reports for Forbes.
“The research firm said Microsoft’s revenue is poised to accelerate starting in the December quarter on the back of two key product cycles, the Xbox 360 and SQL Server 2005,” Ng reports.
Ng reports, “SG Cowen added that Microsoft could be developing a branded competitor to the Apple Computer iPod.”

PlaysForS–t? If true, one has to wonder how Microsoft’s loyal WMA-supporting “partners” like Creative, iRiver, Sony, Archos, etc. would react to the news. And, even if released tomorrow, wouldn’t such a product from Microsoft be way too late in the game?

Just about the time MS releases any feeble attempt at an iPod “killer”, Apple will be releaseing the new improved iPod hand-held computer that will have not only music and video capabilities but some other whiz bang features that MS never dreamed of or couldn’t figure out how to implement.
Furthermore MS will have to match the iPod feature for feature: Intetration, Integration, Integration, absolutely impecible design, and NO virus problems. They won’t be able to do it.
That’s just it. MS will come up with some POS and just slap their name on it. That’s their standard procedure. Think the MS brand will caryy it.
Whatever it is I bet 10 bucks its white with slightly rounded corners. It will either mimic the iPod very closely or it will be over the top different and ugly.
The only way I would buy this is if it had an “emergency suppository” capability, so that I could shove it up someone’s arse.
Question:
Why is this page rendering so wwwwwiiiiiiiiiiide?
Odyssey67 because “couldbe” above has posted a long, unbroken URL and if this site broke it with a space then it would be a worthless link.
Stupid glitch that should have been fixed long ago.
Well it is, with a <a href =”longsiteurl…”>Click here</a> html link but this site won’t allow it.
That’s the pic I was looking for 😀
What will they call it? The iSuck?
