Apple Wallet is one of the most practical apps on iPhone, and iOS 27 pushes it further toward being a single place for cards, tickets, keys, and everyday payments. According to 9to5Mac’s Ryan Christoffel, the update adds tools for turning physical passes digital, splitting restaurant bills with Apple Cash, tracking Apple Card subscriptions, and expanding hotel-key experiences.

Build a pass from scratch
Scanning physical cards requires next-generation Apple Intelligence. Manual creation offers three templates: Standard, Membership, and Event. Apple’s aim is to make Wallet the hub for loyalty cards, memberships, event tickets, and other passes that still exist only on paper or plastic.
Split Bill with Apple Cash
Scan a receipt using the Camera app’s new Siri mode and you’ll get an option to Split Bill with Apple Cash. Wallet then opens with choices to request payment from others or pay your own share. It’s a fast way to settle group meals without leaving the Apple ecosystem.
Recurring transactions for Apple Card
Apple Card users get a Recurring section, found behind the three-dot menu on the card screen. It lists upcoming repeating charges in a calendar month view or a simple list, making subscriptions and regular payments easier to track before they hit.
Hotel key upgrades
Participating hotels and resorts can offer an enhanced key experience. Guests can still unlock rooms and amenities with iPhone or Apple Watch. The expanded pass can also show more trip details, activity updates, and in-stay services in one Wallet card. Wallet also received small UI tweaks and a refreshed app icon.
Insights, with a catch
iOS 27 includes an Insights feature in some regions that aggregates spending across cards. Christoffel notes that the feature appeared in some betas, but is not available in the U.S. at launch.
