Norman Reedus is joining the series-regular cast of Apple TV’s upcoming action thriller “Disavowed.”
The project, created by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Uncharted), stars James Marsden as legendary CIA case officer Brad Griffin. Griffin is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin who killed his colleague. Disgraced and cut off from the intelligence world, he decides to pursue the $15 million federal bounty on the assassin’s head. Reedus’ character has not been revealed.
The series comes from Apple Studios. Marcum and Holloway executive produce alongside Tom Spezialy, Michelle MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs, and Marsden. Blue Marble Pictures (Pachinko) produces, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity also serving as executive producers. MacLaren (The Morning Show, Breaking Bad) will direct the first two episodes and executive produce with Hobbs under her overall deal with Apple TV.
Reedus is best known for playing Daryl Dixon across 11 seasons of AMC’s The Walking Dead and the spinoff The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which is set to conclude after its upcoming fourth season. He also starred as Murphy MacManus in The Boondock Saints and its sequel, and is in pre-production on a third installment as star and executive producer. Recent credits include Takashi Miike’s untitled Kyoto project; he next appears in Mark Heyman’s Pendulum.
