Apple is already looking ahead to its landmark twentieth anniversary iPhone models, and the latest rumors point to a noticeable jump in screen real estate. According to Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, the company is currently sampling two new display panels: one measuring around 6.4 inches that could land on the iPhone 20 Pro, and a roughly 7-inch panel destined for the larger iPhone 20 Pro Max.
These size increases would apply across the entire anniversary lineup while keeping the same aspect ratio as today’s models. Even more striking is the design direction. The leaker claims the phones may feature a fully borderless look with curves on all four edges, matching earlier reports of micro-curved OLED panels and “liquid glass” displays that create a nearly edge-to-edge visual effect.
A move to 6.4 inches would represent a modest, but meaningful step up from the 6.3-inch displays on the current iPhone 17 Pro and the expected iPhone 18 Pro. Apple last enlarged its premium iPhone screens with the iPhone 16 Pro series in 2024, when the Pro grew from 6.1 to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max expanded from 6.7 to 6.9 inches.The new display rumors build on a Bloomberg News report from last month indicating that Apple had accelerated work on two distinct sizes for the anniversary devices.
Beyond the bigger, more immersive screens, the twentieth anniversary iPhones are expected to pack an impressive set of upgrades, including under-display Face ID, a custom Apple image sensor, haptic buttons, the A21 chip, higher-bandwidth memory, and a pure silicon battery.
