“Apple Inc. is on a roll with high sales, and now that luck has trickled over to their app store,” Nichole Tucker reports for The Inquisitor.
MacDailyNews Take: No. Luck has nothing to do with it.
“In July, it has been reported that Apple Inc. broke it’s customer records by selling over $1.7 billion worth of music, videos, games, and other apps through its apple store [sic App Store],” Tucker reports. “Based on a previous Inquisitr reporting, the spike in Apple app store sales may be due to the increasing product sales… Because every Apple product comes fully stocked with software, including the Apple app store, more apps are being sold because more products are being sold.”
MacDailyNews Take: No. iOS devices come with Apple apps preloaded. App Store sales only count App Store sales, not preloaded Apple apps like Safari, Stocks, Weather, etc.
Tucker reports, “Just recently, sales for the Apple watch showed positive results even though many people were not happy with the product.”
MacDailyNews Take: No. Apple Watch satisfaction is unprecedented at 97%; beats original iPhone and iPad.
Tucker reports, “Based on these facts, there is no surprise that Apple has also recently broken records in China.”
MacDailyNews Take: Based on what “facts?” Everything you’ve gotten spectacularly wrong above? Or the one you’re about to unleash below?
“Though the app store has brought in 1.7 billion in just one month, there is talk that it may not be enough,” Tucker reports. “According to the Dispatch Times, the tech giant spent over $33 billion hiring developers to create, maintain, and constantly refresh the Apple app store.”
MacDailyNews Take: No. Sigh. The total amount paid to app developers to date is now $33 billion, up from $25 billion at the end of 2014.

MacDailyNews Take: Holy crap, The Inquisitor‘s Nichole Tucker really sucks at her job!

Affirmative Action. Not working out too well for The Inquisitor.
Ouch!
Oh my. Perhaps a little too much truth there for the resident Lib nutjobs to handle. Prepare to be downvoted for stating the unvarnished truth.
To show that being an ignorant numbskull knows no race or sex boundaries, I give you The Donald.
Nice one 😉
“TruthTeller” and “Boom!” – two idiots who post anonymously on this forum and are willing to twist anything in favor of their bigoted viewpoints.
If it supports your beliefs, then it must be a “fact” or “unvarnished truth”!
Ms. Tucker clearly has a problem with reading comprehension. Here’s what Dispatch Times said: “To date, the company has paid OUT $33 billion to App Store developers, it said – $8 billion of which was in 2015 alone.” [emphasis added]
As D. P. Moynihan said, “You are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.”
How does a writer this careless, dishonest, and/or incompetent get hired for such a position?
“How does a writer this careless, dishonest, and/or incompetent get hired for such a position?”
See TruthTeller’s comment above.
This article is incredibly poor…laughably so. The Inquisitor staff is just as responsible as the author.
Thanks MDN for setting the record straight. That article came out yesterday and I couldn’t work out how they got the internal dev costs from.
What are great example of an article that takes a positive result and turn it into negative FUD.
I think the author deserves a Donald too!
Tucker reports, “Just recently, sales for the Apple watch showed positive results even though many people were not happy with the product.”
I guess when you are selling millions, 3% dissatisfied customers can be “many people”.
I think those 3% dissatisfied didn’t give their WATCH a chance to blend in with their lifestyle. It is impossible for me to understand a downside to the WATCH experience.😱⌚️😖🎉😍
