Images of iPhone 6s leak; expect numerous changes inside

“For fall 2015, Apple is preparing an ‘S’ iPhone upgrade that superficially preserves the exterior designs of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but includes a collection of major internal changes,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

“In May, we reported that this new ‘iPhone 6S’ line would debut this fall with a Force Touch, pressure-sensitive display as one of its marquee features,” Gurman reports. “Now, a proven source familiar with Apple’s supply chain has provided us with the most extensive look yet at Apple’s next iPhone, sharing the first photos of the iPhone 6S’s external metal casing, plus an in-depth look at the new iPhone’s internals.”

Guzman reports, “Today, we’re focusing on the exterior of the next iPhone, which appears to refute a number of potential changes that some have speculated were destined for this model.”

  1. Apple is mindful of the multi-billion dollar third-party accessory industry, which thrives because of the two-year lifecycle of iPhone form factor. The sheer abundance of cases and other form-fitting accessories that dwarfs any competing model is the result of Apple’s two-year form-factor revision cycle.

I had an iPhone 5. My wife got me a customised case for Christmas. Next fall, iPhone 5S came out and I got one. I can still use the custom case and my wife is happy. I’m sure the scenario isn’t anywhere near unique.

  2. “Expect numerous changes inside”???

    *GASP*

I can’t remember the last time there were changes to “the next iPhone”. This is exciting.

They should start with this: MOVE THE DAMN POWER BUTTON BACK TO THE TOP. BECAUSE IT NEVER INTERFERES WITH MY PICTURE TAKING.

  3. Force Touch – please… it feels like the early days of touch screens when you had to push harder to make the freaking thing function – I am not a big fan of Apples direction on this. iWatch does not interest me. The physical home button with an ID scanner and pay system was brilliant and intuitive. Apple is truly following trends now not leading.
