“Samsung Electronics Co. will manufacture the main chip in Apple Inc.’s next iPhone model, regaining a customer previously lost to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., people with direct knowledge of the matter said,” Jungah Lee and Ian King report for Bloomberg. “Samsung will start making Apple A9 processor chips at its Giheung plant in South Korea, the people said, asking not to be identified because the contract hasn’t been discussed publicly. Additional orders will go to Samsung’s partner Globalfoundries Inc., according to another person familiar with the arrangement.”
“Winning this order from Apple will help the world’s second-largest chipmaker rebound against TSMC, which last year ended Samsung’s monopoly over contracts to make iPhone and iPad chips. Both manufacturers have boosted capital expenditures to gain business from Apple and Qualcomm Inc. in the more than $300 billion semiconductor industry,” Lee and King report. “Apple’s decision to turn back to the rival for supply of crucial components may vindicate Samsung’s investments in trying to grab the lead in manufacturing technology. Apple spent $25.8 billion on chips last year, accounting for 7.6 percent of industry purchases, researcher Gartner Inc. said.”
Lee and King report, “Whether Samsung can hold onto the contract exclusively may depend on how quickly TSMC can bring online more advanced production and the pricing that both companies are willing to offer Apple.”

MacDailyNews Take: Regardless of who stamps it, serial patent infringers or not, the Apple A9 SoC is going to be a beast!
MacDailyNews Note: Today is Good Friday. As such, the U.S. financial markets are closed for the day and posting will be less frequent today.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Let’s hope TSMC is able to compete better soon with the prevalent view here and desire to leave Shamstung painfully in the component suppliers dust and out of the Apple loop completely.
Ther seems to be some conflict concerning who is supplying chips for Apple. 😀 Link here: http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2015/04/no-one-seems-to-know-who-won-apples-iphone-chip-business.html
ButButBut! “People with direct knowledge of the matter” are ALWAYS right!!! 😉
Just goes to show you that you citizens of the free and civilized world that one can get great products from just about anywhere, even a country that tortures people and is bereft of any moral integrity.
Of course happy Easter to one and all.
For most Christians, this is a sad day as it is the passing for their most Holy figure. Sunday is a day of joy for them.
Yes Sad day indeed, for Jesus, Mithra, Dionisis, Osiris and many others. They ALL were born of a virgin, kings came to give them presents, died and were resurrected on the 3rd day.
But I do love these Pagan holidays now called Christmas and easter.
A very interesting post there Paul. I know according to legend that Jesus was a man but Mithra, Dionisis (Dionysus) and Osiris are all deities from the little that I know, and I’m not privy to how they are/were conceived. Got any links/articles I could brush up on (and yes I’ve checked Wikipedia, which was not really that helpful in this point
I did find this for Dionysus: “Dionysus was the last god to be accepted into Mt. Olympus. He was the youngest and the only one to have a mortal mother.” but no mention that she was a virgin. Then again Zeus being the father, and being a god could have revirginated her.
I did find this for Osiris: “Osiris’ mother was goddess Nut” and later “Nut loved Geb and Thoth, but she was married to Ra.” Doesn’t sound that Osisris’ mother was a virgin, on the contrary sounds like she was a slut. Plus being a goddess well that doesn’t really count does it. I mean those gods and goddesses, they can do all sorts of cool stunts and revirginating themselves is probably part of their repertoire.
For Mithra her mother was Anahita, an Iranian goddess: “Anahita was considered both a virgin and a mother, at some point viewed as having given birth parthenogenetically to the Perso-Armenian god Mithra.” Again, Mithra’s mother was a goddess so revirgination is possibly here, along with parthenogenesis, which to my knowledge always produces females.
I’m really enjoying what you posted and I’m expanding my horizons as a result. From what you’ve said I think that Dionysus is pretty well the template that Jesus used. Gives a whole new perspective to slavish copiers.
Thanks and by all means please follow up with any more insights you can provide, like I said I’m not well versed in this particular matter.
RW have you watched Zeitgeist, and the God who wasn’t there? That’s a good starting point.
good on you for taking time to read up. BUT, do read widely, because anyone can publish wrong info on the Internet. So, please do read corroborating sources that are not written by some priest.
Here’s a thought for you to ponder. Isn’t it strange that Jesus’s story should so “closely align” with many mythologies that preceded him by centuries? Even if those stories were myths or legends, how come someone “real” like Jesus would end up with a similar biography?
I’ve heard of the concept but never seen the movie. Based on what I briefed through you might enjoy Julian Jayne’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind (tough read though but wow what a concept).
I agree, read widely, review, get books and be prepared to be wrong, keep an open mind and change.
I love the thought you gave me to ponder, and I’ll harmonize with it. All those ancient deities and monster mixes (like the Gryphon, head of a lion, wings of a bird) eventually evolved over time into monster man mixes (centaurs, minotaurs) and the plurality of deities went from polytheism to monotheism.
Simply put, they have all been displaced by knowledge. Anything that humans did not understand they attributed to a deity. Now there is only one big mystery left, death and funny enough one deity left to deal with it.
Back to your question how could it, because it is an energy pattern. How can it be that plants, fungi, animals have all figured out that to get the maximum distance from a projectile you aim it as close to 45 degrees as possible.
Love the mystery.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Strange that you should think so hard to come up with the “energy pattern” theory for Jesus’s biography rather than the simple explanation.
So where are the “energy pattern” examples since the death of Jesus. There has been 2000 years since he died. Shouldn’t we have seen MANY more of these then? Point me to this “energy pattern” that has caused another person since his death to exhibit the “Born of a Virgin……blah blah blah……to being resurrected on the third day” phenomena that you postulate.
BTW, animals aiming at 45 degrees is not a manifestation of some strange spiritual energy. It is a simple matter of putting their nurons to work. It is not a result of some mysterious spirit.
Here’s another thought, where are the Elephants, Gorrila’s, Monkey’s that are being born to virgins going around performing miracle’s and being resurrected and walking on water?
An energy pattern is a simple explanation and it fits in well with the idea you put forth of Zeitgeist (spirit of the age or spirit of the time). These patterns are sure to change over time.
A similar example, that of the hatters. There was a time when mercury was used in the process of curing felt used in some hats. The hatters, inhaling these fumes went insane hence the term “Mad as a Hatter” or “Mad Hatter”. Today thanks to safety features this pattern no longer happens.
Another example is a wave of deformed babies in the late 50’s and into the 60’s. This was traced to the drug thalidomide. The drug is off the market for pregnant mothers and so the pattern has stopped, though deformities in children still happen.
That is not to say that the energy pattern has disappeared, like the tide there could be an ebb and flow. Haley’s comet appears every 75-76 years, so it’s not an every day situation. There are those that talk about a second coming (perhaps the daughter of god) set to happen in about 2000 years. Obviously it is not accurate, or she’s about 14 right now.
As a slight aside, I pointed out that plants and fungi move to aim projectiles at 45 degrees and they do not have neurons as well. I never said it was spiritual, I implied that there is an energy pattern to it, and it can be as simple as the firing of neurons, although that certainly won’t apply to plants or fungi as they do not have any. It was meant to be an open question.
You suggest that there is a simpler explanation to all this (born of a virgin….blah blah blah…resurrected etc) phenomena. By all means please elucidate. If you are suggesting that it is the Zeitgeist idea you put forward, I have no qualms about that.
For your last thought, potential virgins reproducing (via parthenogenesis) are only found in fish, amphibians and reptiles when it comes to vertebrates although it has been induced in human reproductive cells and there are a few accounts of it in humans. One male revealed “the discovery that both the X chromosomes in his blood cells derived from the boy’s mother, rather than one coming from the father as usual.” There are cases like this (chimeras) that are rare, but still there.
Now insofar as animals performing miracles that’s up to you to decide what that is, but for walking on water, the water striders are a good example of an animal that can walk on water.
I take it all with a grain of salt, and I can certainly imagine a lot of possibilities other than the “son of god” concept. Some are simple, some more esoteric, but none are conclusive to me. I do know however that there is a lot of diversity and that creates a lot of options, some that are not so common.
Thanks for the sentiments. Enjoy your Easter weekend.
Try reading ‘Pagan Christianity?’ by Frank Viola and George Barna. Shows how Christianity assimilated Pagan customs and traditions to spread the faith. 😀
I thought God (as opposed to Jesus) was the most Holy figure for most Christians, but I could be wrong.
As I directed my well wished to one and all I was also wishing a Happy Easter for those who like the Easter bunny and egg hunts, those who just think it’s a holiday, and those who hold Easter as just another (long) weekend.
If I am not mistaken, God is not a figure but a spirit but many Christians don’t differentiate the person of Jesus from that of God.
The point you seem to miss is that on a commemoration day of the passing of someone very dear to you, a person normally does not say “Happy death day.”
A spirit cannot be a figure?
Let’s see one definition I have of a figure is: “a character or personage, especially one of distinction”
I would say that the easter related god could possibly fit into the definition of being a figure even if he is a spirit as I don’t see the two being mutually exclusive.
The point that you seem to miss is that I was wishing everyone a Happy Easter, not a Happy Good Friday. You also seem to miss a point that if a person normally doesn’t say “Happy Death Day.” then why is it called “Good Friday” instead of say “Sad Friday” or “Black Friday” or “Crap Friday.”
People don’t say Happy conception day either, although September 25th is the christian Feast day.
Another point you may wish to consider is that people normally offers well wishes of an event a bit prior to the event itself. Christmas for example, heck I’ve witnessed Merry Christmas well in advance of the 25th of December. Sometimes even after like “Happy belated Birthday.”
That was my intent, to wish a Happy Easter a few days ahead of the event. After all it should be normal to go to your local grocery store (one that’s open) right now today, Good Friday and see Easter Eggs and other Easter stuff being sold.
That being said, there is a point I am missing and thanks for bringing it up. I could have and perhaps should have wished people a Happy Good Friday but as you point out, people don’t normally do that. So please enlighten me, what is the normal acceptable wishing for a Good Friday? I’m clueless and certainly would appreciate pointing out to me the point I need to make on Good Friday when pointing out that I am extending my well wishes on that particular day as normally as anyone else would.
Again, I made a Happy Easter wish a few days before Easter. It happens to be on a good Friday. Rest assured that I consider this normal and I have received well wishes for Easter not only on a good Friday but also prior to a good Friday and it’s never caused me any issues that I can recall.
This thread is hilarious. Just saying! 😀
Of course, I keep telling people that I’m funny laid back and chilled, like any good apple fan person should be.
Thanks for the support, I’m going to answer your other post now, looks like I might have to think about it a bit more.
But they did go with “Good” Friday…and they use the figure of Jesus suffering on the cross for adorning pretty much…everything. Seems to me “Not So Great” Friday and perhaps, say, a loaves and fish logo might have been better choices. 😉
One thing that I love about coming here is expanding the horizons. There actually is a happy conception day. It’s called “The Feast of the Annunciation.” and next year March 25, 2016 will be a Good Friday AND the day of the Feast of Annunciation. There will be a coming and going on the same day.
Interesting to read that when Annunciation day falls within the Easter holidays (which last several days) the Annunciation day is moved. Considering the popularity of Easter and the not so popular Annunciation day (never heard of it being a holiday) it seems that there is not so much importance places on conception.
Too bad, it’s such a creative gesture.
It’s giving me a conniption that Christmas Day was put where it is because of social competition with pagan holidays surrounding the winter solstice. Then someone counted 9 months before this randomly placed Christmas Day and decided it had to be the day of conception, Annunciation Day. It’s a mathematical probability stuck on top of a random number that was chosen because of politics. It’s worthy of ritual chaos conceived in the blind idiot mind of the ultra gawd Azathoth, who is the the visual inspiration for the great atheist gawd Flying Spaghetti Monster!
We humans are not meant to understand.
Every day is denunciation day in the MDN comments
Now now hold on to that conniption fit about Christmas, Easter, and Annunciation day, along the the HP Lovecraft horror deities just a minute more so I can really twist your head.
Imagine for a moment what it must have been like to sit through an argument on creationism vs. reproduction, a debate that must have been quite popular back in them days. One side saying that their god creates a baby inside a woman when she is married, the other side saying that you don’t have to be married to make a baby, and both sides finally agreeing that women need to be locked up for the seven days of impurity.
You can just imagine the chaos how other babies from other animals and plants are not formed by god because plants and animals don’t get married. Ah but yes what about spontaneous generation, cabbage patch and storks???? Oh those old theories. Sometimes it makes me wonder just who won the great Creationism vs. Reproduction debate.
I know it wasn’t me, I kinda like that gal that sleeps when she’s tired and eats when she’s hungry.
Us humans are meant to understand, but more so and here comes the twist. When it comes to the “image” of humans, does that image reflect the matter (look) or the energy (action).
If it’s the former, it’s grand, god/jesus looks like a living thing, bravo, done and dusted.
If it is the latter, well the only action that I know that she really did was create so if we are to continue that image, we need to be co-creators and create. That’s eternal from my perspective, and that’s a heavenly image, after when images are made in the image of the image then you are never alone with a clone.
Or something like that.
Say wasn’t this thread about making products for anybody? What fun.

Quoth the poet Robert Calvert:
as a clone
i am not alone.
every fibre of my flesh
and bone
is identical to the others’.
everything i say
is in the same tone
as my test-tube brothers’
voice.
there is no choice
between us.
if you had ever seen us
you’d rejoice
in your uniqueness
and consider every weakness
something special
of your own.
being a clone
i have no flaws to identify.
even this doggerel
that pours from my pen
has just been written by
another twenty
telepathic men.
it says:
o for the wings
of any bird
other than a battery hen…

But what about South Korea?
Either,
1. Sandung CEO has proof that TC is gay.
2. Apple knows that keeping two suppliers alive and playing them off against one another allows Apple to get a very good price on chips.
Now lets look at 1…..oh wait a minute…….yeah, it’s 2!
It’s 2 fur shur. Most excellent strategy!
Baloney.
Samsung I going to have an abysmal report so their hacks have to conjure these stories.
These are the same guys who reported that Samsung won the contract for the iPhone 6
So THIS is what zero stars are for!
Who keeps letting this creature out of the sewers?
Please stop. He stinks really bad. 💩
Um, some removal has occurred on this page, making the above reply comment meaningless. Please ignore. Much obliged.
Can I suck your cock faggit?
Okay, so I’m gay. Yes i love to fuck boys and wank myself ok. Deal with it! If you just leave us little sick fuck boys alone I’ll show you my cock. I promise I’ll even let you put your cock in my mouth and cum in my mouth just as long as ive got my 5s right there filming it in slow mo.
No. I don’t want your herpes, thank you. Why do you bother? Do you really hate yourself that badly that you enjoy attracting that hate of others? I hope this isn’t supposed to be some form of humor. Total FAIL if you think so. Work it out. There’s time to learn and grow up kid.
Samsung is like the paint grinder. Apple is like Michelangelo.
When the paint grinder works under the directions of the master everything is ok.
When the paint grinder tries to make a ‘Sistine Chapel Ceiling’ himself disaster ensues ..
I think this is a fake News, Apple is one of the Reputed and Most Trusted company. They have never outsourced the Chip. Apple have many smart engineers than Samsung. Samsung copies Apple’s products but Apple is self-dependent, quality product provider. Need to Think Different that it will never take such type of steps
