“You may remember a report from last week claiming that the MacBook Air was going to arrive in Space Grey, Gold, & Silver colours and launch in Mid 2015,” Jack March reports.
“A source familiar with Apple’s plans describes the 12 inch Macbook Air as having a noticeably thinner design, the source wouldn’t give dimensions however noted that the thinner design may sacrifice the standard USB port and Apple will move to the reversible USB Type C with this product,” March reports. “It is assumed Apple will include an adapter in the box for backwards compatibility. The source also believes that the MagSafe port as we know it has also been sacrificed and the new Macbook Air charges in a different way to what we’ve seen in current Macs, however the source wasn’t too sure whether this had been finalised or not.”

It probably uses the same lightning port for charging that the iPhone and iPad do because it’s so much smaller than MagSafe.
I don’t think the Lightning port can provide enough amperage to charge a device as big as a MBA. And it would seem pretty dangerous to have an adapter as large as for a MBA with the same connector as an iPhone. It would fry it.
Better yet, the inductive charger to be used for Apple watch.
“A source familiar with Apple’s plans”
Great! I’ll bet all my savings on that.
In the article they talk about a MacBook Air and show a MacBook Pro.. Some source.
So where are the MBA mockups already!!! I’m waiting….
1. I understand wanting something bigger than 11″. But by only 1″? I hope this doesn’t mean they’re getting rid of the 13″ version as it seems to elude to.
2. Likely to be retina when considering Apple’s advancements in display management…………also likely to be the what rumors have mistakened as a 12″ iPad
3. There’s been no talk of battery technology advancements that would allow a 12″ MBA to have longer battery life than the current 13″ MBA.
4.
Apple Watch charger would be best option since it still has Mag Safe pop off release to prevent tripping on charging cords & crashing your MacBook which was original intention of Mag Safe design.
Ugh, I despise the “space gray”, it’s basically silver. Bring back the iPhone 5 black on black. That was the most badass iPhone color (or any Apple thing color) ever made. I can deal with the iPhone because I can put a fucking cover on it quicker than I can unbox it to cover that ugly ass shit, but a laptop? You’re going to make me look at that ugly disgusting space gray color all fucking day? Fuck you, Apple.
I’ll employ the “F” word occasionally for emphasis, but relentless usage reminds me of an old saying. “‘Tis a hungry man who talks always of food”
Very well written information. It will be beneficial to anyone who employess it, including me. Keep doing what you are doing – can’r wait to read more posts.
