Apple’s annual Back to School promotion to start tomorrow

“Apple’s annual Back to School promotion will begin tomorrow, according to sources,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

“The program will be similar to last year’s offering, which provided $100 Mac App Store gift cards alongside Mac purchases and $50 cards with iPhone and iPad purchases,” Gurman reports. “Apple will be re-decorating its stores overnight with a new education theme to go along with the new promotion.”

  1. It’s June 30th. Some schools just got out a week ago.

    Oh well, Christmas decorations and winter parkas will probably show up next week.

    I feel sorry for the people that try to buy summer stuff in July/August and all you can find is winter clothing and snow shovels. There are times I really hate retail.

  2. Actually, it really could start earlier. Lots of people buy Mac notebooks and iPads as graduation gifts, and grads are often rushing to buy their Macs with graduation money. It’s more “college sales event” than “back to school”; it’s just that the BTS moniker makes for a nice shorthand explanation. Coming from a former Apple Retail frontliner 🙂
