Apple is fighting a legal order requiring the company to modify its digital book contracts and submit to oversight by a court-appointed antitrust monitor,” The Associated Press reports.
“The Cupertino, Calif., company filed its notice of appeal Thursday in New York, following through on a pledge to fight the verdict,” AP reports. “The challenge comes a month after U.S. District Judge Denise Cote finalized her order based on a verdict that she reached in July.”
AP reports, “Simon & Schuster Inc., one of the five book publishers affected by the ruling, filed an appeal Friday.”

How? Would you rather have a monarchy… that’s been the norm throughout most of history… or perhaps a socialistic, communitarian system of more recent historical vintage?
What has history shown about those two systems (and their variants), if not that corruption IS inherent in them?
In recorded human history, no system of government has avoided corruption… and in the last 100 years (particularly in eastern Europe and Asia) it has been often disguised as simply how power of authority is wielded within those systems.
The problem of corruption in our system is the people in it, not in the system.
Which is not to say our system can’t be improved. We certainly need more protection/regard of our individual civil liberties, less authority over our lives/activities, and more limits on government power… this includes all levels of government down to the local level.
Good news: Now that there is an affordable care act you can get a real doctor and stop using this forum as a free source of psychotherapy.
