Apple increases iPhone 5c and 5s battery sizes relative to iPhone 5

“While poking through the FCC documents and piecing together a story on the network band situation for the iPhone 5S and 5C, I remembered that part of a normal disclosure is in fact battery size,” Brian Klug reports for AnandTech.

“Apple noted the battery on the iPhone 5C increased, and I’ve been curious about the 5S battery size as well given the different PCB photos with slightly changed aspect ratio that floated around as potential candidates for the 5S,” Klug reports. “Apple also doesn’t disclose the battery size in Whr or mAh on their tech spec pages, making this the only real place to find out outside of opening them up and looking once they’re available.”

Klug reports, “The iPhone 5S ends up getting an almost 10 percent increase in size versus the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5C goes up around 5 percent versus the iPhone 5.”

  1. Oh-no… Wallstreet people will be so disapointed to hear that as they already (and gladly) annonced that Apple didn’t even increase the battery size in any of their new iphones…

  2. It’s not battery size in itself that matters its battery performance in real world use as compared to its predecessor and competition that matters. If it burns more juice it needs more to stay still in that regard. Only time will tell on that one.

  3. Industrial espionage and leaking Apple information has become such a cottage industry that there is no suprise at iPhone unveils. The hype machine runs the share price up on these rumors and then the anal-ysts all get collectively distraut when the true facts are released.

Wonder what these clowns would think if Tim Cook went around and opened their Chrstmas presents early to spoiled their surprise.
