Best Buy announces ‘Insignia Flex’ 9.7-inch Android tablet

“Best Buy has used its Insignia house brand to hop onto hot electronics trends from HDTVs to LED light bulbs, so it should come as no surprise to learn that there will soon be an Insignia tablet in store(s),” Sean Portnoy reports for ZDNet.

“On the brand’s Facebook page, the company announced the Insignia Flex Android tablet, which Best Buy promises will be available in a month,” Portnoy reports. “According to the post, the Flex will be based around a 9.7-inch screen, include a 1GHz dual-core processor, and run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Battery life is also claimed to be 10 hours between charges.”

        besides Best Buy will count those as Christmas sales which might make them look good

    1. Insignia is the “In house” brand for Best Buy ( Future Shop here in Can’da) and has unwaveringly been the lower-priced generic garbage that you could only expect. I’ve wasted time with Insignia products when on a budget, and without fail returned the product days later for untold myriads of reasons.

      At least the golf tournament charities will have a tablet to offer as prize.

  1. Remember when Apple first released the iPad, everyone said,”WTF, there is no need for a 3rd screen”. That included most of the analysts and most of the companies like DELL, MS, HP, etc. Now, everyone plus Apple’s former toilet cleaner is releasing an Android tablet.

    Followed closely on the path where CISCO, RIM, and Dell failed by Home Depot, Walmart, Cosco. What are these “CEO’s” thinking.

    I have apple tablets and pod type hand held,and bought this Flex to try out. Will gIve this one out for “first time” tablet users in my family,this holiday .. very nice tablet. A++
