Apple releases MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0; corrects CPU power consumption, USB compatibility

Apple today released MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0 which fixes an issue that can lead to increased CPU power consumption, and it improves compatibility with some USB devices.

This update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced since June 2012.

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.

  1. Hope they release a fix soon for whatever bug causes these new MBPs to completely freeze during/after some graphics-intense operations. Google Maps in their new WebGL beta (in safari not chrome), a flight simulator, an interactive Flash applet… Except for the flight sim, none of these even taxed the GPU that much.

    Accidentally froze an MBP in an actual Apple Store going to WebGL Google maps, so it’s not just my MBP.

    No, none of these are Apple products other than Safari, but no user-level software is supposed to be able to take down the entire system.
