Apple’s timely Java update

“Having previously criticised Apple for being too slow to push out updates for third-party components in Mac OS X, it’s only fair that I recognise that Java for OS X 2012-004 and Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 9 appeared just a day after Oracle release Java SE 6 Update 33,” Stephen Withers writes for iTWire.

Withers writes, “It remains to be seen whether this prompt release is related to the handover of responsibility for Java for Mac to Oracle, or if it marks a new level of attention to security issues by Apple.”
