Harrods is set to unveil ‘Harrods Technology,’ a new luxury department on the Third Floor of its Knightsbridge store.
Opening on Friday, March 16th, the 20,000 sq. ft. space will offer a selection of consumer technology categories including home computing, audio-visual, photographic and mobile communication.
The department will showcase global brands including Apple, Sony, Samsung, Bose, LG and Toshiba, as well as specialist stand-alone boutiques from Loewe, Bang & Olufsen, Porsche Design, Osim, Spymaster and Vodafone. A bespoke suite of aftercare services will also be offered to Harrods customers with a dedicated customer service bar in-store.
To celebrate the opening of this new department, furniture customers can receive a Harrods Technology Gift Voucher worth £500 when they spend £5,000 or more on a furniture order placed between 25th February and 29th April 2012. They’ve had all of these companies represented within store for years. All that’s changed is that Apple will be running their own concession, as B&O, Porsche etc. already do.
Harrods has become a study in bad taste. It’s crowded by Russians, Arabs and Chinese who all desperately try to buy class. Depressing.
