“Virgin America has named one of its fleet after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, emblazoning a popular Jobs quote ‘Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish’ on the side of this Airbus A320,” Jordan Golson reports for MacRumors.
“A Virgin America spokesperson explained to MacRumors that the name was chosen as part of an internal plane naming competition,” Golson reports. “The plane, with tail number N845VA, first flew last fall.”
Golson reports, “Virgin America is the only airline based in Silicon Valley, with 2,200 employees based in Burlingame.”

Awesomeness!
Go Obama! Oh wait…a MDN that isn’t political?!? Wow
“Go Obama!”
I agree . . . and take Joe with you!
The one named after uncle Fester:
“Developers, developers, developers!”
Nah. A MUCH better, and more current Ball-less quote:
“I like our strategy. I like it a lot!”
With the seats not bolted down…
Yeah, but it would crash all the time.
Actually, Steve quoted “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” from the Whole Earth Catalog (the back cover of their final issue, I believe) during his Stanford commencement address.

@An Optimist
That was funny!
Since when is Burlingame in Silicon Valley?
Yeah, everyone knows it’s in Germany!
So the Brits name a little plane after Jobs. Well good.
Meanwhile, the Italians are naming an ocean liner after Ballmer…
…After it struck an iceberg. “That’s actually what we call any boat that goes down”, said an Italian official.
Why name some tiny jet after Steve? Virgin operates Airbus A340’s. Name one of the big ones after his greatness.
Virgin America only ha Airbus A319 and 320 aircraft. You’re confusing it with Virgin Atlantic (an entirely separate airline, not connected, except for the name, with Virgin America).
So that’s what ‘iCloud’ means?
I was watching an espionage show a few years back, I think it was Alias, and the bad guys had all their servers installed on a plane that stayed in the air constantly to protect them from physical access. Looks like JJ Abrams may have envisioned iCloud first! Not exactly eco-friendly though.
Does the jet refuse to have recommended maintenance done?
Sad but true.
That’s brutal!
“Are you a virgin?”
Probably because in the Apple ‘Think Different’ advert there is a brief clip of Richard Branson as it rolls through the list of unconventional people who Apple recognised as innovators who operate outside the box
