Microsoft releases ‘My Xbox LIVE’ app for iPad, iPhone

Xbox-maker Microsoft today released My Xbox LIVE, a free app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Users can take their Xbox LIVE experiences wherever they go with the My Xbox LIVE app.

Users can track and compare achievements, connect with Xbox LIVE friends, change 3D Avatars, and review recently played games. Users can also access Xbox Spotlight feeds, get breaking news from Xbox LIVE, game tips and tricks, and gamer spotlights.

    1. Interestingly enough, the Metro UI is already on the iPhone. A Twitter app called Maha. It’s actually pretty nice, though I have since switched from it to Tweetbot due to the extra features it provides.

  1. It’s actually pretty neat that they’ve put the Xbox Live part of Windows Phone 7 onto iOS. It very well and you can do things like shake your iPhone/iPad when your avatar is in screen for a special effect.

I wonder if they’re going to put it on Anroid though, likewise Office; I think Microsoft are aligning themselves with their ‘pay’ competitor against the common enemy of ‘free’ Google.

    1. Cause they know the windows user base is small… And the number that would use the live part, even smaller.

iOS users that have an Xbox live account.. Much larger.

I logged into the app… And it gave me errors and showed the website. 17mb app to show the website… Typical microbloat.

  2. I don’t care for this but I really wish MS would make an XBOX remote control app for iPhone/iPad, to control the media player running on the XBOX over my home network. My XBOX is the only device I have at home which is connected to my best amplifier and can stream music and I really want an “anywhere” remote for it.
