“Historically, Apple has held its big product demonstrations in San Francisco,” John Paczkowski reports for AllThingsD.
“This year things are going to be different,” Paczkowski reports. “Sources close to the company say the demonstration — currently scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4, a date first reported by AllThingsD — will be held at Apple’s campus in Cupertino, Calif.”
Paczkowski reports, “Whatever the reason, the world will get its first look at the next iPhone at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium in early October.”

probably because all of SOMA will be overwhelmed with oracle openworld conference that whole week. every decent hotel booked, and probably every meeting space too.
Is this official? I still haven’t seen any announcement from Apple, or any purported invitations. I hope it’s true, just would like to see it officially.
I agree. It is kind of strange that there is no official announcement from Apple. If it indeed is the 4th, we should see an announcement within the next couple of days. But since this date is all over the web and there has been no denial from Apple, I think that it is probably true.
