RUMOR: iPad 3 internal parts show up, hinting at upcoming launch

“If some new internal components are anything to go by, the iPad 3 may be coming soon, perhaps with that retina display,” Andrew Hoyle reports for CNET.

Hoyle reports, “It seems that we may not have long to wait for the third generation of Apple’s slate, after internal parts apparently for the new device turned up on online reseller SW-Box and subsequently found by 9to5 Mac.

Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac, “The iFixYouri iPad repair shop has taken a look at these new parts and have provided us with descriptions for each of the four. The part you see on top is basically the full external button control cabling system for the next iPad. This includes the power switch, volume keys, and silent/ringer switch.”

  1. Have you notes that all stock prives are falling, but Exxon is falling faster than Apple. Looks like tomorrow apple will became the biggest public company in the world.

    1. Exxon price is driven by crude oil prices. XOM was actually up a bit today while AAPL was down a bit. If crude prices go higher, then it might be a while before Apple surpasses Exxon in total market value. But it seems possible that it will happen relatively soon.
