HP slashes TouchPad price to $399 just one month after release

“Just over a month after the HP TouchPad hit the market, its price has been cut by one-fifth for a special weekend sale intended to boost sales of the iPad-competing tablet,” Sam Oliver reports for AppleInsider.

“Starting Friday and through the weekend, HP is selling its TouchPad for $399.99 for the 16GB model, and $499.99 for the 32GB capacity,” Oliver reports. “The prices, available through HP and at all major retailers, are with a $100 instant rebate.”

Oliver reports, “The PC maker has not shed any light on sales of its tablet, but the discount, which undercuts Apple’s iPad by $100, comes soon after the July 1 launch of the hardware, suggested it has gotten off to a slow start.”

  1. ““The PC maker has not shed any light on sales of its tablet”

The only “shed” TouchPad is seeing is the ‘Wood Shed’!…

    Because it is getting SPANKED!

      1. MBA = Master of Business Administration. It’s one of my favorite rant subjects. Our ongoing economic depression has a lot to do with ignorant and brain dead MBA graduates. I have very little respect for most MBA schools. Crap in, crap out. MBA graduates are a dime-a-dozen as are most MBA schools, blahblahblah

  2. They have an ad showing Manny Pacquiao with a TouchPad. If they want to actually sell some, they should send him to make personal appearances at their stores, so he can threaten to punch out folks who don’t buy.

      1. What an excellent idea for a website.

Imagine all the crying children receiving on of these POS tablets on Christmas day. It’s going to get very crowded on The Island of Misfit Tablets. 😥

  3. So my table seats just two
got so crowded, i can’t make room
    where did they come from
    stormed my room
and you dare say it belongs to you – to you
    This is not for you,
    this is not for you,
    oh, not for you
