“Apple’s iPhone 5 is probably the most highly-anticipated smartphone in the world,” Richard Goodwin reports for Know Your Mobile. “And the iPhone 5’s release date is fast approaching.”
“In the run-up to the iPhone 5 release date we’ve seen quite a few supposed leaked images of the device,” Goodwin reports. “Granted, no one will know what the device looks like until Steve Jobs struts out on stage with one tucked in his Levi 501’s back pocket. This hasn’t stopped an absolute plethora of images hitting the web – what else are we meant to do with our days?”
Goodwin reports, “Some are extremely plausible and could be the real deal, whilst others are just plain silly. Nevertheless, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite for your consideration.”

It’s nice to see people that are willing to be patient, maintain self-control, and not rush around willy-nilly following the latest 15 second craze. One of my employees recently had a baby and didn’t go for the gender id prior to birth. It was refreshing to me, but the rest of my crew were going berserk!
The one that shows the brushed aluminum back looks like something I saw at a kiosk in the west Edmonton mall a few weeks back. Anyone confirm? They had a bunch of different backs that I think they would swap on or something, I just saw it in passing.
No chances for brushed aluminium back since it kills the signal — and the glass does not. And there is no chance that Apple would return to plasticky backs (even if painted as brushed aluminium) either.
So no, these rumours are typical junk.
(Cell signal levels might be much weaker than Wi-Fi signal, so while for Wi-Fi small plastic “window” on the back of iPad 1/2 is enough, for cell signal it is not. That is why Apple had to decline aluminium back with plastic lower part from original iPhone in favour of fully plastic back in iPhone 3G — and, in favour of glass in iPhone 4.)

I wonder what it’s name will be, iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. You read it as one name in one place and the other name in another place.

The iPhone 5 will be shaped like a pony and alternately have sparkles and rainbows coming out of its ass. Although rumors had the release date as Sept, then Aug, it will really come out this afternoon.

Many of them may not be the next iPhone 5 but still may be official (but officially doesn’t exist) Apple prototypes.
Apple’s been known to do many prototypes that never see the production light of day.
Other companies like Sony also make many prototypes but then wind up making all of them for the public to see what sticks to the wall. Like the XL523 and who could ever forget the XL525s? 😉
All the bullshit rumours that it’s just going to be a 4S… not a major update. Bullshit. It will be a new design. Apple knows they have to keep offering fresh stuff because of how competitive the market is.
