    1. The language Apple used in their announcement inferred that eventually they will stop updating Java. Oracle will be involved in the OpenSource project Apple are currently creating for Mac OS X / iOS Java. It takes time. Expect the release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to be the end of Apple Java updates.

  1. THANK YOU MDN for providing links to Apple’s security page!!!

Security is a bit above the heads of most Mac users but continues to be of critical importance. The best way for Mac OS X to remain the #1 safest GUI OS on the planet is for Mac users to get involved with keeping it that way and continuing to pester Apple.

One of the fruits of our pestering Apple about security is going to be Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Microsoft are going to DESPISE Lion. Microsoft trolls are going to be kept extra busy lying their asses off about the ‘superiority’ of Windows security after they get a look at the security enhancements in Lion. I can hardly wait. BWAHAHAHA!

    1. Feeling supercilious today? How would you have any idea what is “above the heads” of most Mac users? Thanks so much for forcing Apple to do something about Mac OS X security. Apple has been doing such a crappy job for the last decade, after all…

    1. The hacking effort on the Mac and Safari at Pwn2Own did not by any means begin when they said “go” to start the contest.

The exploits would have been developed over an extended period in advance, and the decision about which to implement first would be driven by what would garner the most publicity.

Nobody really cares if Windows is hacked again, so there’s not reason why not to leave it until later.

  2. More Bull Crap from Derek Currie. Derek talk to the professional penetration testers. Mac OS X is no great secure OS. It is security through obscurity. Now with the hiring of David Rice and Apple FINALLY looking at securing their OS in Lion, Apple just might have a somewhat secure OS.

Derek, you really need to talk to professional penetration testers so you can get over feeding your obsession think OS X is so secure, it is not. That is why pro pens can walk right through on pen tests.

As for your blog Mr. Derek Currie, Please open up the comments section. Your blog is like having a dictator mouthing off his drivel and no one can comment. Then with your utter brilliant writing skills you twist and contort your opinion into what appears to be fact, when it is not.

Derek Currie take down your firewall of locked comments on your blog. Hear the people!!! Just don’t keep dictating your drivel.
