Camping begins for Verizon iPhone; are you in line already, too?

Are you in line for an iPhone outside a Verizon Store?

Or do you have photos of people in line for a Verizon iPhone?

If so, please email them along to for us to publish.

T-GAAP’s Mark Reschke has what has to be one of the very first photos of people lining up for Verizon iPhones here.

  1. Ummmm….no. That would be like waiting in line for a car that’s been out for a year because a new dealership opened. Trust me, they’ll still be selling them after the lines are gone. Besides, can you see a stranger coming up to you on the morning train and saying “Oh…My…God… Is the the new VERIZON iPhone ?!?!”

  2. As a Canadian I am use to cold.

The extremely cold in the US especially in the south, there is going be some very brave souls.
Hope no freeze to death for an iPhone, please dress for it if you plan camp out.

Here is a suggestion if you can find the Verizion store through all the snow, build yourself an igloo.

  3. Why would anyone wait in line for an iPhone when there are far better Android smartphones that nobody stands in line for? The iPhone doesn’t even run Flash or have 4.3″ displays or 4G. I doubt that Verizon will sell more than handful of iPhones because everyone is waiting for the Motorola Atrix. Apple will be out of business by next year if Steve doesn’t come back as Apple’s CEO. Consumers only by Apple products because Steve says they’re “awesome”. Nobody would listen to Tim Cook saying that.

  4. If I wanted a Verizon iPhone (instead of AT&T of course), I would definitely wait in line…not 7 days, because that’s just crazy. I would plan on getting there the day before.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them sell out of the iPhone 4, and it could be a long time before they catch up to demand.

  5. My wife was about to pull the trigger to replace her current Verizon phone, and then retiring the TomTom gps, old phone, and iPod with her music.

Until she noticed the mandatory data plan requirement.

She’s keeping her current phone, and getting a new iPod Touch, reducing her gadget load from four to three devices, instead of from four to one. The extra cost of the data plan isn’t worth it for her.

  6. These Verizon buyers are fools. They’ll be stuck with old technology (still better than Android, I suppose), when the new iPhone 5 comes out in June/July.

I find it amusing that someone is standing in line in the cold for technology most of us got 8 months ago. LMFAO.

  7. Google’z Boyz has some good points! I won’t even think about getting another iPhone until Apple makes one with at least a 3.8″ screen although I’d really like a 4″ retna. I can live without the flash although my Android has had no problems with it. I wish Apple would allow alternate browsers as well. Safari is just not fast enough and it crashes too much.

  8. I just talked with verizon customer support and they said that customers who buy and iphone 4 can still buy an iphone 5, but not at discounted price. So, if you have the money, you still can get an iphone 5 when it’s released. I will! And by the way, I ordered my iphone 4 and it is to be delivered Monday by UPS. Sadly, if Verizon used FedEx like they always did in the past, I would have received it today. I checked the delivery status and it is currently at my home town UPS as of 6:15 am, but too late to ship.
