Analysts flock to boost Apple’s target price following Verizon iPhone news

“Analysts are flocking to raise Apple’s (AAPL) target price following the long anticipated announcement that Verizon (VZ) is finally going to sell the iPhone,” Sheena Lee writes for SeekingAlpha. “New capabilities on the device, such as FaceTime video conferencing, may also attract additional customers this year.”

“At least 20 sell-side analysts have changed or reiterated their targets since the announcement,” Lee writes. “The mean 12-month target of these 20 analysts is $397.95, up from $384.85 prior to the announcement and from $376.53 in our last full Prognosis in early December.”

Lee writes, “Targets range from $340 (Rodman & Renshaw’s Ashok Kumar) to $450 (Peter Misek at Jefferies and Brian White at Ticonderoga). Ten analysts raised their targets and 10 reiterated theirs. All 20 analysts have positive ratings on the company. Apple closed Wednesday at $344.42.”

  1. And like a flock of birds, you’ll always find guano in amongst the droppings of a flock of analysts. Digging around that guano might reveal one or two gems of which Apple is a shining example. Well put it this way, if not shining then less tarnished.

How many more miles (billions) to go before overtaking Exxon? Let’s keep the pedal to the metal and the engine revved up Steve-O!

  2. I’m surprised that Apple shares are higher than the lowest of estimates, so I guess Apple isn’t doing to bad as far as target prices are concerned. Somehow I always figured that shares of a successful company should be closer to TP averages instead of just touching the lowest of TP. Considering Apple had such a huge upgrade today, a less than 1% pop isn’t exactly great, but a couple of bucks added every day starts to add up in the long run. Going from $300 billion to $318 billion in market cap in a couple of weeks isn’t shabby at all. ExxonMobil seems pretty strong, but maybe Apple will get lucky if one of their tankers ruptures and spills oil somewhere around Seattle, Washington. Kill two birds with one stone Hehe.

Whatever that it is it looks like some kind of coffee you’d drink after filtering it 50 times & washing it with detergent before loading it in the expresso machine.

Looks like that coffee came out of the back end of an animal. Perfect for colonic rinses. Get that encrusted mess out of your anus double quick!
