  1. They never mentioned anything about plans and plan features. How much for voice (how many minutes), how much for data, what tiers are available, how much for text, how much for mobile hotspot feature?

Verizon has so far been the undisputed world champion of nickle-and-diming. We should not be surprised when the plans turn out to be less attractive that some had hoped.

  2. Yeah, check mate, Android!

Pretty soon the US cell phone market will look like Europe’s – where the iPhone has been available on all the major carriers for years, and as a result nobody offers Android phones because the retailers can’t give them away!

    oh….

  3. Now if we could just get Verizon to offer upgrade pricing to existing customers of Android devices. I am not eligible for an upgrade until October. I would hate to pay more than 199 but I so want to get rid of my DROID.

  4. What good is a “personal hotspot” when it shuts down every time you get a call? I think this CDMA limitation is the Verizon iPhone’s biggest downfall. I check email or maps while on a call quite often on AT&T.

  5. Called my local Verizon provider (who are tired of me shrugging off their suggestions for my long overdue upgrade) and they said the first two phones they get are mine.

Now I just have to wait 30 long days . . . Clock is barely moving.

  6. So Verizon gets the iPhone 4 in Feb. and then Apple releases the iPhone 5 in June. Is Apple really worried about Android progress to release the Verizon iPhone so late? Will Apple even release a new iPhone this year since as they said the iPhone 4 is the largest iPhone upgrade ever? Will consumers wait and get the iPhone 4 on the cheap from Verizon or hold off for the new iPhone if there even is one?

  7. Ok, so I was wrong – but only half wrong. The iPhone on Verizon will still suck – I can’t wait to hear the complaints. CDMA/EVDO is ancient… Voice calls will be fine, but everything else, everything that makes the iPhone so special will suck with Verizon.
