New orders for the Wi-Fi-only and 3G-capable iPad, in all available storage capacities, now ship within 24 hours when purchased from Apple’s official online store,” AppleInsider reports.
“For months, customers had to wait an estimated 7 to 10 days for their order to ship,” AppleInsider reports. “A few weeks ago, iPad shipping times quietly improved to between 3 and 5 days.”
AppleInsider reports, “The estimated 24 hour shipping schedule would suggest that Apple has managed to catch up with consumer demand for the iPad, which has been a multi-million seller in its first few months on the market. Apple struggled to meet demand, as various component suppliers could not get orders to the company fast enough. In its first three months of availability, the iPad sold 3.27 million units.”

Perhaps demand has slowed due to the multitude of comparable tablets being sold by competitors.
@picaman,
Like what?
Maybe folk are anticipating the Mk 2 model?
Poop mcdonalds wifi Kees dropping me. Makes comments hard
@ picaman–
No, seriously, like what?
It’s a joke… Be cool, man….. It’s sarcasm….
Maybe Apple could make the iPad available outside the first 15 countries soon. Most of the Europeans are not able to buy them locally yet.
Sales are down, hence increase supply. We’ll see what happens in the final quarter of year.
Major ramp-up in production in time to meet holiday demand. Judging from the number of these things turning up in airports and at meetings, I would say sales are incredible.
Maybe everyone, who still want’s an iPad, is waiting to see if the new on Wednesday iPod touch really does have 2 cameras.
Facetime porn baby!

Laughable
Demand probably is slowing down at this point. It will pick up again after next April.

either Apple finally caught up with demand or the demand has gone down. there are only two possible answers.
@Norwegian:
For the love of god, someone get the europeans ipads pronto! The last time they couldn’t get what they wanted locally my great-great-great-great-no so great-great-great-mediocre-great-great-grandfather was told he was going on a cruise and ended up become intimate with his own–shall we say–“bio-byproduct” and the “bio-by-product” of hundreds of tightly packed great-and not so great grandfathers and working for free for 400 years.
Land Hoe
Buying my second next week. And five more as gifts for Christmas.
Lalit,
The answer could be both. The demand is still strong but people are holding off, while the supply side has caught up. My friend rushed down to the Apple store in the first week of release but was told there’s a 3 weeks wait. She still wants one, just not in a rush anymore. Someone else saw my iPad in the cafe and said he plans to get one too but with his work, hours getting cut, he’s still saving up and evaluating the model and plan to get.
@Norwegian
What planet are you liven these days ?? In Germany we got them even before the Canadians did.
Now, if Apple can get the online iPhone 4 ship time below “3 weeks,” they would really be getting somewhere.
The link to the iPad supply full story is bad. It points to the Flash story.
Time to start putting the iPad on the shelves of stores for the rest of the public.
iPhone 4 still has a 3 week delay.
Another factor is Apple’s production finally ramped to better meet demand. Companies usually have a ramp plan over the first several months. Apple was probably even a little surprised at how fast demand went through the roof.
Supply will be short again leading up to the holidays– it’s going to be iPads and iPod touches under many trees this year.
.. just in time for the launch in China.
This is great news. Clearly positioning supply capacity ahead of the holiday demand. Expect blockbuster sales figures come Jan. 20 something ish.
Buy Apple on sale now. If the world goes to hell in a hand basket Apple could go down but all other scenarios look pretty rosy for Apple.
@AV,
Maybe the tagname “Norwegian” contains a hint?
iPad is not yet in sale in many European countries…
