Many MacDailyNews readers are writing in to tell us that their pre-ordered iPad Wi-Fi + 3G units have been “Prepared for Shipment” by Apple.
So have our iPads!

MacDailyNews Take: Aunt Tilly’s about to get some serious company!
On April 20, Apple announced that that iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models will be delivered to US customers who’ve pre-ordered on Friday, April 30, and will be available in Apple retail stores the same day starting at 5:00pm local time.
iPad will be available at the end of May (think: May 31st, if history is any guide) in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Apple will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders for iPad on May 10.

Oh, I see, mine does say “Prepared for shipment”. I was looking at the other two items with tracking numbers.

I pity you fools who waited for he 3G units. We WiFi unit iPad owners are already bored with ours. LOL

All you guys who got the WiFi iPads are going to regret it in the next few days. The 3G units are the REAL iPads–can’t wait to get mine!

I’m using my non-AT&T;WiFi iPad and can get a Verizon MyFi Mobile 3g to WiFi router anytime I’m ready.
FYI. I spoke with Apple Customer Service yesterday and the guy there said that my stuff was being shipped from the Austin, TX warehouse. So, the 3G iPads are already in-country. They don’t have to ship from China. I guess that’s the advantage of not offering custom configurations. My new Core i7 MBP is arriving on Friday also (but shipped on Tuesday from China).

Yes, you can do that. Fr $49.99 to purchase the MiFi WITH a 2 year contract. AND you’ll pay $60 per month with a 5GB limit.
AT&T;- no contract, prepaid $15 or $30 per month (only when needed), and NO GB cap on the $30 plan (per AT&T;press release). And AT&T;has a faster network.
Love Verizon all you want, but there’s no comparison when it comes to this situation.
Finally, the “Wal-Mart” iPadders are about to be overrun by people with real iPads!

Don’t get a 3G iPad if you already have an iPhone. You can just use your iPhone’s 3G data connection with a WiFi iPad instead. http://www.macdaddynews.com/?p=2784

It’s Thursday Morning, 33 hrs before it officially goes on sale. My pre-order status is still prepared for shipping BUT my bank account has been refunded the amount. I ordered my 16gb 3G on April 10th. Something is up and I don’t like it. Can’t wait until customer service line opens this morning so I can make a call to Apple.

I’m with you. They haven’t taken the money out of my account yet, and mine still shows “Not Yet Shipped” and “Ships: Late April.”
I lucked out and ordered mine on April 16th. (The Friday before the ship date changed to May 7th!)
I am on hold with the loud and obnoxious “iHold Tunes Top Ten”. My money has not been pulled from my account, and my status still shows “Prepared for Shipment”.
Stores get it tomorrow at 5p, but I t h i n k the street date will be May 3. I ordered March 27, 2010 at 09:47 AM PDT.
If I get my device tomorrow, I will have to suspect time travel is involved.
