  1. Nice to have that out of the way before sales begin, rather than after someone sues. Fujitsu was up, as of Friday, but my brief search did NOT tell me what I wanted to know – could Apple have bought the whole company for cash.
Why would they? To make the question of the name go away. Why not? They are in several markets Apple has not (yet) invested in. But, maybe, should. Like … cameras. FujiFilm has been a player since before there was “digital”, and still is. Apple’s iPhone is at the low end of that spectrum.

  2. Since Google can’t be bothered with all that trademark stuff (or finalizing much anything), Motorola had to acquire a license for “Droid” from George Lucas, who has commercial rights to the name for merchandising StarWars junk.

  3. @ Zune Tang
Acid wit at it’s finest lad. Oh how we’ve all missed you even if most of the others don’t care to mention the fact.
That’s what this site needs, more humourists like you rather than the political zealots.

  4. I doubt Apple paid a cent for the name. Just like STMicroelectronics, whose CEO stated that they would like to be supplier of chips to Apple, when asked about a potential trademark infringement of Apple’s. I’m sure Fujitsu has something they’d like to sell to Apple, and rather not fight over a product name which would spoil that relationship.
