Apple today released Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1 which improves battery performance of the 2007 aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard when used in combination with other bluetooth devices (eg. Magic Mouse, some bluetooth headsets) and addresses an issue with the 2007 aluminum Apple Keyboard and the 2007 aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing.
Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1 requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6.2.

This is an obvious sign of how the table is imminent!
Umm, kinda random. Do we think this is related to anything coming Wednesday?
They need to address the issue where the wired version gets it’s power *after* the boot loader sequence has begun that prevents many early Intel iMac owners from booting into BootCamp. Holding the “Option” key does nothing since there is no power to the keyboard. Only option is to use the remote “Menu” button.
Could it be that my Aluminium Keyboard will work with The Tablet ?
sure, you can dock the tablet and it’s basically a little iMac.
when you take the Tablet from its dock, it reverts to the mobile UI.
Doubtful this has anything to do with the tablet. Apple has been having complaints about the keyboard using excessive amounts of batteries. Probably just timed to be released after Q1 financial conference so that this “problem” didn’t get resurrected during the conference.
I just hope it makes it able to reliably shut off. I’m always hearing my sleeping mbp wake up and make repeated errr alerts from the keyboard being pressed.
Hmmmmm….snappier already!
I think I may need to do the updateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Does the update add a numerical keypad?
I installed the Firmware Update and now my Keyboard translates what I write in French into English ! Apple is magic.
My 27″ quad tells me there is no aluminum keyboard connected. WTF? I am typing on it now. I did a restart and still same thing.
@ Hugh B
The Update is for the 2007 version only, yours is more recent, maybe that’s the reason.
Duh, I must have not gotten enough sleep. It say 2007 keyboard, surely that is not the one I got with my 27″ beauty is it?
2007 only read my lips!!
The 2007 version needs 3 batteries, your Keyboard needs only 2. Right ?
(Go to bed early tonight.)
my keyboard feels snappier already…. and i don’t even have an Aluminum Keyboard!
I thought this was the big announcement for Wednesday. Dang.
No, Ampar, that’s the Apple Remote update.
It will control women now.
(I would then definitely vote ‘Steve Jobs 4 King’ even if he ran on the Moonbeam Party’s ticket…)
LMFAO, TT!
“It will control women now.”
The Apple Remote. At your Cervix. Batteries Not Included.
My remote does a nice job with my new iMac. And sadly, my new iMac is the closest thing I have to a girlfriend, right now.
Oh . . . the imagery!
Whew. My Fermium Keyboard vanished after 2 1/2 months and it wasn’t cheap.
Ironically, I’ve been pushing ‘Steven King 4 Jobs.’
Ampar . . .
It looks like you might need to get a life, . . . or half of one, anyway.
What do you expect?
I could have said, :You da’ bomb!”
