Apple releases Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1

Apple Wireless KeyboardApple today released Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1 which improves battery performance of the 2007 aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard when used in combination with other bluetooth devices (eg. Magic Mouse, some bluetooth headsets) and addresses an issue with the 2007 aluminum Apple Keyboard and the 2007 aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing.

Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1 requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6.2.

  1. They need to address the issue where the wired version gets it’s power *after* the boot loader sequence has begun that prevents many early Intel iMac owners from booting into BootCamp. Holding the “Option” key does nothing since there is no power to the keyboard. Only option is to use the remote “Menu” button.

  2. Doubtful this has anything to do with the tablet. Apple has been having complaints about the keyboard using excessive amounts of batteries. Probably just timed to be released after Q1 financial conference so that this “problem” didn’t get resurrected during the conference.

  3. No, Ampar, that’s the Apple Remote update.
    It will control women now.
    (I would then definitely vote ‘Steve Jobs 4 King’ even if he ran on the Moonbeam Party’s ticket…)
