Apple begins prepping Yerba Buena for Wednesday’s special media event

“Apple has begun prepping the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and appears to be placing large banners on the side of the building to mimic the invitations sent out last week,” Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.

Apple’s media event will take place on January 27th at 10 a.m. Pacific time

MacRumors reader Samuel Powell sent in a photo of the Yerba Buena Center being prepped for the event. See it here.

  1. I’ve been prepping myself for this moment since 2007.
It is really going to be big – a big shift in computing is here.
I’ve been posting messages on that on MDN for the last 3 years.
Apple will consolidate its lead over every other companies; starting Wed.

  2. I’m on market & golden gate ave. I work at the building and a couple of guys slipped up and exposed for a moment a poster showing the tablet. I took a picture with my phone. I’m not giving it up unless i get some cash money. I want at least $1000. Meet me on this corner and approach me . I’ll be wearing a scarf tucked into my jacket

  3. @ Jim

I’ll meet you at midnight. I’ll be wearing a red dress with a blue rose on it, and I’ll say “The eagle is in my soup”, to which you will reply “It’s a cold day for pontooning”. I’ll leave the money in front of The Triton hotel in a pink D&G;handbag.

  4. I heard it, like 2 months ago. The thing is, Amazon already knows this, and they don’t care. They’ll sell books for iPhone, Zune, Android, whatever. If there’s an SDK, there will be a Kindle App, and thus, Amazon can make lots of money off the tablet.

Do you really think Amazon wants to be designing hardware to compete against Jonathan Ive?

  5. “If this really is about a tablet, instead of, “Come see our latest creation,” they should have made it, “Come touch our latest creation.”

Yeah, but then the first Apple Fanboy that touched the Tablet would be instantly brought to his sudden demise by

    a) Apple Security
    b) Steve Jobs’ death gaze
    c) Those ghosts from Raiders of the Lost Arc that melt your face

  6. You can have my Kindle when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
If Apple releases a tablet, sign me up. But not as a replacement for my Kindle. Somehow I doubt it can go 2 weeks on a single charge or spare my eyes unless it is some kind of e-ink device.
