  1. I don’t think this is an update, in that if you buy a new iMac that comes with it, you won’t get (or need) this update. This is for the people who buy the mouse independently, and want to use all the multi-touch features in it. Apple originally stated that the mouse came without the software for it, and only standard mousing features would work out of the box (just like on Windows). With this software, full functionality is now supported.

  2. Track pad mode would be appreciated, especially on the 27 and 30 inch displays, it is difficult to navigate with the new mouse. I kept trying to move the cursor like a trackpad, the mouse is uncomfortable to move.

  3. I was skeptical with this new mouse, no side buttons, will the mouse hold still?

But when I was at the Apple store and tried it, I was sold.
Wow! (with apologies to Microsoft’s Vista slogan)

If Apple had them for individual sale I would have bought one on the spot. I was told the new mouse was only available with a new mac. I would have to wait till next week for individual sales.
