All we need now is stock in the apple stores ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
I don’t think this is an update, in that if you buy a new iMac that comes with it, you won’t get (or need) this update. This is for the people who buy the mouse independently, and want to use all the multi-touch features in it. Apple originally stated that the mouse came without the software for it, and only standard mousing features would work out of the box (just like on Windows). With this software, full functionality is now supported.
Wow! Even my puck mouse is snappier!
Agreed with @Lava_Head
How long do we need to wait for this mouse????
It’s a good thing that it’s not avaliable on windows …
Wow . . . even my mousetrap is snappier!
MDN can edit their mistakes but we have to live with ours.
Shouldn’t that say “US69?”?
Oh, wait…
Works great just need some geek to write some software so you can switch over to track pad mode so I can use it on my couch with my lounge mac mini media center
Track pad mode would be appreciated, especially on the 27 and 30 inch displays, it is difficult to navigate with the new mouse. I kept trying to move the cursor like a trackpad, the mouse is uncomfortable to move.
Now if only Apple should SHIP my Magic Mouse.
I was skeptical with this new mouse, no side buttons, will the mouse hold still?
But when I was at the Apple store and tried it, I was sold.
Wow! (with apologies to Microsoft’s Vista slogan)
If Apple had them for individual sale I would have bought one on the spot. I was told the new mouse was only available with a new mac. I would have to wait till next week for individual sales.
Went to the Apple Store yesterday, let the kids try the new mouse, they loved it, walked out with an iMac. Very pleased with it so far.

Great story, with a happy ending!
I tried to install the update and got a message saying I had to have 10.6.2 or better to do so!
Strange!!!
@Fergman
I had exactly the same message. I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.1 which is, according to me, the latest version.
