Apple’s MobileMe is a service that automatically pushes new email, contacts, and calendar events over the air to your iPhone and keeps everything in sync across your Mac, PC, and the web. MobileMe also makes it easy to share your photos and access important documents on the go. And if you ever lose your iPhone, MobileMe can help you find it or remotely wipe your data to protect your privacy.
Find My iPhone: If you misplace your iPhone, MobileMe can help you find it. Log in to me.com to view a map that shows the approximate location of your iPhone. If it’s nearby, have it play a sound to help you find it, or display a message on the Home screen to help someone return it to you.
Remote Wipe: Your iPhone contains information you don’t want in the hands of a stranger. So if you lose your iPhone and displaying a message on it hasn’t resulted in its safe return, you can initiate a remote wipe and restore factory settings. If you eventually find your iPhone, you can restore your data by enabling your MobileMe account on iPhone.
iDisk app (free):
– Lets you view files on your iDisk right on your iPhone. Microsoft Office or iWork ’09 documents, PDFs, video files, and more are viewable in landscape or portrait. Even access Public folders of other MobileMe members with a few taps.
– You can share files that are too big to email. Choose your recipients and iDisk sends an email with a link to download your files.
