Now the lightweight power and performance of µTorrent is available for Apple Mac.
This is beta software, and may contain serious bugs. We think it’s stable enough to share and hope your feedback will help us improve it.
Please share your feedback on our forums.
More info and download link for µTorrent Mac βeta (ver. 0.90, Mac OS X 10.5 Intel) here.
I don’t know. I dropped transmission like a rock when it couldn’t handle my 20+ downloads at a time. Some of the torrents came in unfinished even though they said they were 100%. Been waiting for the power of uTorrent to come to the mac for forever. Until they get out of beta I’ll stick with Azureus/Vuze
Transmission looks good, but the integrated searching with Xtorrent makes it my program of choice.
Yay, Xtorrent!
Just to make sure I understand it correctly, we are discussing here the tools that vast majority of posters are using to obtain copyright-protected content without authorisation, i.e. illegally?
(a good hint was that piratebay.org link…)
There is lots of content available on the internet that is not copy-protected and is obtained legally by these programs.
Don’t lump us all in together, thank you.
“I dropped transmission like a rock when it couldn’t handle my 20+ downloads at a time.”
If you are trying to download 20 things at once, you will never get good speed.
Normal rule of thumb with a torrent is to have no more than 3 active at any one time. This way you will download things faster.
There is a site that explains this, but I can’t be bothered to look it up.
