Apple has released Trackpad Firmware Update 1.0 which addresses an issue where trackpad clicks may not be recognized on MacBook (late 2008) and MacBook Pro (Late 2008) systems.
Trackpad Firmware Update 1.0 is available via Software Update.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Evan” for the heads up.]
I’m glad a fix has come for the trackpad issues that I’ve been experiencing, but for some reason it won’t let me install it. The installer says that my computer doesn’t need the update. It’s the newest version of the MacBook Pro 15″. Does anyone have any ideas why it thinks I don’t need the update?
Make sure you don’t have any USB devices connected. It will require that you are plugged into wall power.
Big improvement!
No missing target because of “smudging” with your click finger.
No stuck cursor.
No invisible cursor.
So far, just great!

Anybody download the Safari update? I haven’t done so yet, read too many problem posts on Apple forums. Wondering what others think about it.
I haven’t had any problems whatsoever with my new macbook pro’s trackpad. Wonder what good this firmsware will do.
