  1. Hmmmmm, let me see. Didn’t someone around here complain that Apple should get into gaming cause that would be the best.

But Apple says that IT will not be doing any real game development. And now this. Great gaming, great music, phone, etc and Apple does not have to develop any games. Just great hardware.

Apple cool gaming for on the go.

    Just a thought.

  2. This ‘funnest’ keyword just shows what direction Apple is taking…The direction of targeting the general dumb population who have no idea how to put two sentences together and who wouldn’t have a clue that funnest isn’t actually a word. Last time I used that word was when I was about 3. Gone are the days of Apple macs being exclusive to a higher class mentality, mindset and wallet.

  3. So, when the kids hand in their Xmas/Solstice/Hannukah/Kwanzaa lists, the parents won’t have to decide between a gamer or an iPod. They get both in one! The biggest decision is the amount of memory.

    Absolutely a no-brainer.

Apple and the iPod touch have suddenly rendered all the hand-held game machines obsolete.

    Maybe I’ll get me one?

I WISH the stainless steel back had a SATIN finish. I HATE shiny.

    ≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠

ElderNorm: Apple ISN’T developing games, they’ve provided the PLATFORM.

  4. Awesome commercial!!!

Apple seems to be doing the same thing with games as they have with Macs – they are entering through the back door (heh, heh, heh). Macs are showing up in businesses because the employees are buying them for home and then pushing for to use a Mac at work. Likewise, with gaming, Apple is encouraging small game development with the iPod touch and iPhone lineup, which will bring in the big gamers for the Mac.

    Wery, wery smart, Apple!

  5. With Chris above, and anyway funnest is a perfectly acceptable word in the evolving language called English.

But then maybe you think it should have been “funniest”?

And as for Apple taking a direction due to its use of that word, are you serious?

  6. JD, step outside your presumably US boarder and realise (oops spelt that incorrectly too didn’t I?) that funnest, while not a common word, is in fact a word in other parts of the english speaking world.

As Chris pointe out, you are probably not the funnest person at a party are you ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  7. I still like the Gates/Seinfeld Microsoft commercials better. The genius of it is they don’t even display the Zune in the ad so you are enticed to know more about what Microsoft is up to. Brilliant stuff.

    Your potential. Our passion.™

  8. I can’t believe no one has said yet that this is what they need to do during Mac commercials — show the Mac in action. Harder to do with the Mac, surely, but… would give a “Wow” factor if they could pull it off.

  9. JD: When people call Mac users elitist jerks, they mean users like you.

I like this commercial quite a bit, it certainly is better than watching Seinfeld babble about shoes and Bill Gates’ wiggle his butt.

Zune Tang, are you serious? They don’t display the Zune because that would emphasize Microsoft’s failure. Are you surprised that they don’t show a BSOD to illustrate that “Wow” factor? Why don’t they advertise the 1000+ security flaws in XP that they’ve patched?

  10. Sensitive bunch! Must hurt to hear someone make a criticism towards apple. But then again, I guess you lost your sense of humour a while ago. At-least \ln still has his humour hat on. As for living outside the US, I live in the UK and it’s still not an English word. I’m not anally retentive when it comes to language but ‘funnest’ really does speak to a dumbest community! I guess when targeting gamers it is a perfect match. I wonder how many egos that hurt. bring it on!

MDN Magic word: learned. As in, ‘I learned the word Funnest from Apple so it must be a real word’.

  11. Even though Steve was still thin you can tell from his face that he was better. Now on to the ipods….
I was disappointed the new ipod touch did not have gps. I wouldn’t have minded if it was slightly thicker (like the iphone 3G) if it had a gps chip with full onboard maps. All it had was nike+? I wouldn’t run with an ipod touch anyway.

Ironically, it was the new ipod nano I was more attracted to. And I think I will be buying one. They are just too cool and no they do not remind me of the zune. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the new nano should of had nike+ integrated and not the ipod touch.
