On the company’s .Mac website, Apple has announced the launch date of MobileMe, Apple’s new Internet service that works with your Mac, PC, iPhone, and iPod touch and adds push email, push contacts, and push calendar, a new suite of web applications, 20GB of online storage, and more:

“MobileMe to launch July 9th”
That is out of this world!
In other news, Windows users will need to get high as a kite to get a better vista…..
If that were only happening today. Oh well, presents often come after the fact… ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

The date of the launch has been in the Mobile Me logo for awhile, “Tuesday 9”
I don’t see any where on Apple’s site where it specifically says it’s launching Mobile Me on July 9th. Everywhere I’ve looked it says coming soon like it has for the past month.
Okay, I found it. You have to login to .Mac and you will see it in there status notes.
Just one more day to send out Mac “E-Cards” to friends and family.
Awwww!
Just in case you need to know…the 9th is on Wednesday, not Tuesday.
I just wonder if I can use the cloud with opera mini on my curve.
Does anyone know why Apple is doing away with iCards? Just doesn’t make sense to me. I know many people who use it (besides myself of course).
@DLMeyer
I’ll send you a iSympathy card.

In order for Mobile Me to work… don’t you need to have the 2.0 software?
Iphone happy:
By turning on MobileMe a couple of days early, you can get your computer synced up and ready so that when the iPhone 2.0 software drops on Friday, you’ll be able to immediately sync.
“Does anyone know why Apple is doing away with iCards?”
Yes.
It turns out that they are pure evil.
iCards have been directly linked to widespread outbreaks of toe fungus, voter fraud and the deliberate mislabeling of millions of jars of chunky peanut butter. Obviously, Microsoft is still interested in a buyout.
@ The Birthday Boy
Today is Beck’s birthday too.
Happy Birthday to you both!!
@ Brandon
You might want to check the accuracy of your claim one last time.
“The date of the launch has been in the Mobile Me logo for awhile, ‘Tuesday 9′”
That’s only for a special handful of folks that will dart back and forth over the international date line at midnight.
MobileMe is Verne Troyer swinging from a chandelier.
Will there be any issues with photos hosted from a current .mac account and the new mobile me?
specifically, if photos are linked in a forum, will the links break and need to be reset to a mobileme URL?
9th July and no mobile me!
WTF you guys doing in Apple HQ?
Launch the bloody thing!
Petey it says 6pm, it’s not 6pm yet
Anyone got it yet?
It’s 3:15…What’s the deal!
Found a little pop up message this morning telling me my account had been converted and to go to Software Update. There was an iTunes update and a special MobileMe update which had me quit Mail before completing. After updating I went to http://www.me.com, but it still redirects to the apple page. mac.com shows a Maintenance message. Tick, tock, tick, tock.
