Faber Acoustical today introduced version 2 of the award-winning SignalScope and SignalScope Pro real-time signal analysis software. The major upgrade makes both products Leopard compatible and builds on SignalScope’s tradition of award-winning design and advanced measurement capabilities.

“The new SignalScope and SignalScope Pro offer tremendous value in real-time analysis to audio professionals, acoustical consultants, students, educators, and researchers,” said Ben Faber, owner and president of Faber Acoustical, in the press release. “Their impressive array of measurement capabilities, including MAT-file data export, can also turn a Mac into an affordable precision data acquisition system.”

SignalScope’s brand new interface places each signal analyzer tool in its own window, allowing users to multiple data displays simultaneously. Each analyzer display offers hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics for fast on-screen drawing, and Quartz graphics for high-resolution off-screen drawing to PDF files or the printed page. Advanced cursor options enable users to zoom and pan data displays, in addition to pinpointing specific data points within a display for further inspection.

All analysis tools within SignalScope and SignalScope Pro offer more advanced measurement configurations, which can all be saved in project files, along with the measurement data itself. SignalScope Pro also now includes a stereo signal generator with support for Audio Unit generator plug-ins. Significant new features in both products also include comprehensive AppleScript support, direct comparison of captured and live signals, and multi-channel analysis.

SignalScope 2 costs $129 and SignalScope Pro can be licensed for $299. Licensed users of previous versions of SignalScope can upgrade to SignalScope 2 for $59, or to SignalScope Pro 2 for $189. Licensed users of previous versions of SignalScope Pro can upgrade to version 2 for $129. Special education pricing is available. Both products require Mac OS X, version 10.4 or later. More information on SignalScope and SignalScope Pro can be found at their website.

No more spending thousands on a spectrum analyzer to tweak your setup. Although without a good parametric EQ you’re only imagining what your $50,000 home theater system COULD sound like. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”tongue laugh” style=”border:0;” />
