Ahead of today’s Macworld Expo keynote speech by Apple CO Steve Jobs, Apple’s online store has been displaying the familiar message that often, and almost certainly today, precedes new product additions:
We’ll be back soon. We are busy updating the store for you and will be back shortly.
(UPDATE: 2:00pm EDT: Store back online. Please related articles below for new additions.)
Visit the Apple Store here.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Roberto” for the heads up.]
C’mon Apple fanboys and girls… make your predictions !!!
Dammit! Roberto beat me to it 🙁
I predict something awesome!!
There’s a tall, sweaty, bald, fat man in a trench coat and dark glasses nervously fingering his Motorola Q while trying to look inconspicuous in the line to get into the Moscone Center. (It’s in their R & D budget.)
Brand New Macbook Pros
New Subnotebook
New Headless Mac
Macmini/AppleTV and Movie Rentals
mini iPhone (Basic cell phone)
New Apple Displays with built in iSight same look as iMac but matte screen
“There’s something in the air.”
Among other things, a chair in transit.
Gil…
I’ll take one of those new displays, please!
Wow! They’re going to announce today major plans for the wireless auction coming up in the next few weeks.
Google/Apple have huge plans for using this spectrum and that is what the “something’s in the air” teaser is all about… not a new laptop. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it.
“There’s something in the air.”
HD Radio, I’ll bet.
@Jocko Flocko
How can they announce plans for something they do not have? It’s an auction that anyone can bid on and hence win.
@ Silverhawk
Good point. But my point is that Google lobbied for the FCC guarantee that a third of the spectrum will be open to anyone’s devices. So no matter who the highest bidders are, my bet is that Apple likely already has some new gizmos (WiMax?) in the lab that will take advantage of the new spectrum.
“How can they announce plans for something they do not have?”
That never stopped Microsoft. They made vaporware famous. And they got dead people to support them. That is talent.
Youtube is also down, i think apple is going to offer youtube downloads in itunes
HD Radio, I’ll bet
Everyone, please remember that in HD Radio, the HD stands for “Hybrid Digital”, not “High Definition”.
Having said that, another announcement about HD radio tagging connected to the iTunes store is a possibility.
can someone explain why it takes so long for Apple to update its site?
I wonder how much money Apple loses when they take the Apple Store offline for several hours?
